Welcome to Dog School Nerja - an amazing new dog training company offering training classes, 121s and workshops throughout the Nerja area, both in-person and online. My name is Karen and I’m the brains behind Dog School Nerja! My world is all about dogs and I love to show people how to build a meaningful relationship with their dog through training. My methods are simple, clear and easy to follow, but importantly; they involve modern, science-based theories that mean your dog will want to learn and grow into a happy, well-mannered member of the family. Online options are available at any time and you can contact me personally Monday-Friday 10am-6pm. You can also get in touch via social media on Facebook and Instagram.

❤️🐾 A little update about my dog training work…

I wanted to share why I haven’t been doing as much dog training lately, and why there have been some changes to the way I’m doing things.

As much as I love working with dogs, running a small business here in Spain can be challenging. Training work is unpredictable, but the bills aren’t! Between autónomo contributions, income tax, IVA and other business costs, I’ve had to take on additional work to make sure everything is covered.

It’s a difficult decision because working with dogs is something I’m truly passionate about. ❤️ But taking on other work means I have less time available for training, so I’m currently unable to offer as many one-to-one sessions and classes as I used to.

I’m sad to have to scale things back, but sometimes you have to be realistic. My passion for dogs hasn’t changed, but my availability has. 🐶

I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported me, trusted me with their dogs and been part of my journey. It really does mean a lot.

Thank you for understanding and for continuing to support me. ❤️🐾

🐾 Daisy’s first Adventure Trail 🌿

Today was Daisy’s very first Adventure Trail with me, and what a lovely little adventure we had! ❤️

We headed out onto the beautiful nature trails around Maro, where Daisy got to explore, sniff, investigate and experience the world at her own pace.

For Daisy, this wasn’t just about going for a walk. A big part of our time together was about building her confidence away from her human mum and helping her discover that she can have fun, explore and feel safe with someone else too.

There were plenty of new sights, sounds and smells to take in, and Daisy did brilliantly. 🐶

Adventure Trails are all about giving dogs individual experiences that combine exploration, enrichment, confidence building and real-world training — and Daisy is off to a great start!

I’m already looking forward to our next adventure. 🐾🌿

One dog. One trainer. One adventure.

Back after a very busy summer ☀️🐾

Well, that was a hot one! After a busy summer, I’m back and ready for a new chapter with TEAM DOG.

I’ve decided to step away from regular training classes so I can have a little more time for myself — and, importantly, more time with my own dogs. ❤️

I’m really looking forward to getting back to Agility Club, heading out on some beautiful Adventure Trails, working with your dogs one-to-one and seeing lots of familiar faces (and paws!) again.

Here’s to cooler days, muddy paws and plenty of adventures ahead! 🐾🌿

Something exciting is coming this September… 🌿🐾

For a while now, I’ve been asking myself one question:

What if dog training could be about so much more than training?

Over the years, I’ve worked with hundreds of dogs and their people, and one thing has become clear. The strongest relationships aren’t built by practising commands over and over. They’re built through shared experiences, adventure, trust, play and learning together.

So this autumn, things are changing.

I’m incredibly excited to introduce TEAM DOG—a new chapter that’s all about helping you and your dog become the very best team you can be.

Alongside my Agility Club, I’ll be introducing brand-new ways to learn and explore together, including:

🌿 Adventure Club – guided outdoor adventures that combine enrichment, training and fun.

🥾 Trail Teams – small group walks where everyday training happens naturally as we explore.

🐾 Puppy Explorers – giving puppies the best start through confidence-building, enrichment and adventure.

🔥 Confidence Trails – supportive outdoor sessions for dogs who need a little extra help navigating the world.

🌲 1:1 Team Sessions – personalised coaching to help you and your dog grow together.

This isn’t about creating perfectly obedient dogs.

It’s about building confident dogs, empowered owners, and partnerships that last a lifetime.

Because the best adventures are the ones you share.

Things will start to change on this page to reflect the changes, including the brand new business name. I can’t wait to tell you more over the coming weeks… 🌿🐾

As training sessions come to a close for the summer, I’m stepping away from the field for a short while—but not from the work.

In fact, some of the biggest changes I’ve made to Dog School are happening right now.

Over the past few years, I’ve helped hundreds of dogs and their guardians build confidence, overcome challenges, and strengthen their relationships. As Dog School has grown, so has my vision for what it can offer.

So this September, Dog School will be different.

The same values. The same force-free, supportive approach. But with a fresh new structure designed to give you and your dog even more support, more progress, and more opportunities to succeed.

I’m keeping the details under wraps for now, but trust me when I say I’m excited about what’s coming 😎

If you’ve been part of Dog School before, thank you for being part of the journey. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to join, September might just be it.
