Happy Tuesday!

The pods, especially, have lots of energy in the mornings. Even in my teeny postage stamp size yard, they still manage to play & have fun 🐾❤️

We wish you a lovely day 🤍🐾

A moment of tranquillity with the boys at sunset before my second walk with Genie bug turned into something else entirely… a wild boar 🐗 came charging towards us in the olive grove really close to the village, and for one terrifying moment, I thought it was going to charge straight into us, but it diverted quickly and ran off in the direction it came. It looked absolutely terrified and I could see it was injured, with even a shot on its leg. This really distressed me as I could gun shots earlier and decided to cut short my walk with the boys.

Sadly, it’s hunting season again in Spain, and a very distressing time for animal lovers 😢🇪🇸 not only for the animals they kill, but for the thousands of hunting dogs like Podencos (Genie & Beanie), & Galgos (Spanish greyhounds) that are used to hunt, causing immense suffering at the hands of the hunters, due to Spanish law not protecting these dogs.

I love living here for so many reasons, but when it comes to animals suffering, it’s something I really battle with 😢

Good morning from Little Bear & Genie Bug 🐾🤍

Genie idolises her big brother, Bear. She copies his behaviours & follows him everywhere. When he goes out on a walk without her, she sits waiting patiently all alert until he gets back safely.

It’s very heartwarming to watch them ❤️🐾

Beanie & Genie Pod checking that all is well while they’ve been away in France for the summer.

Bean has found a great new rock where he could spend all day ‘peeping’, given the chance. This is his favourite pastime, especially after dark 🐾🤍

Considering my little Pods are from Andalusia in Spain, they’re not great lovers of the heat. 🇪🇸🐕🐕🥵

They spend most of the day inside in front of a fan while it’s really hot outside.

Little Bear, on the other hand, is out all day but sleeps in the shade. He’s from Greece 🇬🇷 another warm country. Maybe it’s because his coat is really thin… and he’s able to cope with the heat better?

Whereas poor Beanie has quite a thick coat, which is moulting everywhere at the moment 🤯🙈

I love how different they are, their quirks, preferences, and little personalities ❤️

They make me smile every day. I can’t imagine a day without them 🐾🤍
