ECAHO - European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations

ECAHO - Who are we? The organization was registered in Switzerland as a “Verein”. Thus, ECAHO was born. And it keeps growing!

We are an organization, established already in 1983, as a reaction to the dubious show practices, which became evident in European international shows. 10 European breeding societies decided to set up rules to prevent “beating and cheating”. Since the first year of its existence, ECAHO has been concentrated on three major topics: the Rule Book (“Blue Book”), the Show pyramid and the Disciplinary matters. ECAHO ensures education of its Officials on regular basis by organizing courses and workshops. ECAHO Breeder's Fund financially supports breeders at National Championships and the European Championship. Show calendar, show results, rules, informations, lists of Officials etc. can be found on www.ecaho.org

Fair competition and humane treatment of our beloved Arabian horses.

Yesterday, ECAHO sadly lost one of its Officials, Dr. Said Wafa, who passed away following a long illness.

Dr. Wafa was a long-term Judge based in Libya, an academic figure and one of the most prominent and skilled equine surgeons in the country. For many years he acted as a teacher at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Tripoli. Due to unrest in the country and difficulties in travelling he was not seen too often at the shows abroad, but wherever he was present, he brought his professionalism, kindness and calm demeanor.

Sincere condolences to his family and colleagues.
