​Dear Boxer Friends worldwide,

​Recently, the FCI General Committee made decisions regarding the institutional representation of the Boxer breed.

We want to transparently share the facts and ATIBOX’s position with our global community.

​🟢 The Facts:
The FCI has noted the withdrawal of support from the VDH, meaning the cooperation partnership with ATIBOX will be rescinded after a 6-month notice period.

🔴 Simultaneously, the FCI officially rejected an application submitted by WUBOX, who had attempted to become the FCI's cooperating partner in our place.

​❌ Breach of Trust: ATIBOX has always worked in good faith to restore unity. However, while we were honoring recent agreements, we discovered these simultaneous actions being taken behind our backs to replace us at the FCI.

🔚 Due to this unacceptable breach of trust, ATIBOX has immediately ceased all negotiations and collaborations with WUBOX. 🔚

​🍀 Looking Forward: ATIBOX remains the historical, legally registered, and majority representative of the Boxer breed worldwide. All our upcoming championships and events are fully guaranteed.

​🔵 Open Doors: Our priority is the Boxer. We keep our doors entirely open to any national club that wishes to return to or join ATIBOX, to work together under official, transparent, and democratic rules.

Our large ATIBOX family has lost one of the most important pillars of our beloved breed. A polite and cultured man, a highly regarded professional, a passionate dog lover, a father, a husband and a friend.
Every one of us stands together in grief and shares in the sorrow of his family and closest friends.

On 10 of August, ATIBOX and WUBOX met face to face in Milan, at the headquarters of BCI – Boxer Club Italia.

The meeting did not start easy. There were different views, some frustrations from the past and a few tough discussions around the table. But being together in the same room made it possible to speak openly and honestly.

Step by step, we found common ground. In the end, one thing was clear: both associations want to move forward and work towards the same future for the Boxer.

There is still work to do, and not everything can be solved in one meeting. But on that day an important step has been made. We left the table closer together than when we arrived, with the breed and the breeders at the centre of what comes next.

Step 2️⃣
ATIBOX and WUBOX are pleased to announce that following a recent initiative by WUBOX and a positive response from ATIBOX:
Representatives of both organisations have agreed to begin exploratory discussions.
Both organisations recognize their shared responsibility towards the Boxer breed and the international Boxer community.
The discussions will be conducted in a spirit of mutual respect, openness and constructive dialogue, with the objective of exploring potential areas of cooperation and common interest.
This marks a scond step.
Further information will be communicated jointly when appropriate.

On June 25, 2026, Robert Fagos (President of ATIBOX) and Bernhard Knopek (Chairman of WUBOX) met to discuss a possible future collaboration.
Both support a partnership between the organizations.
Delegations representing ATIBOX and WUBOX will now explore opportunities for collaboration. An initial online meeting is scheduled to take place soon.
