We work hard here to give a valuable life to our parrots. Our goal is to let them live out their years in a flock type setting that is natural to them. 🦜

Our handsome African Grey, Merlin, is ready to find his forever family!

Merlin came from a home where he was very, very loved, and he’s looking for someone who will continue to give him the love, patience, and enrichment he deserves. He does seem to have a preference for women, though every bird is an individual and the right connection is what matters most.

One of the most exciting things about Merlin is that he’s becoming quite the skilled flier! Watching his confidence grow has been wonderful. He also has an impressive vocabulary and a wide variety of sounds and words that will keep you smiling.

Merlin has been doing an excellent job eating his pellets and fresh chop here at the rescue. He’s also a professional toy destroyer, so be prepared to keep him stocked with shreddable toys, or get creative making your own! Enrichment is one of his favorite things.

He’s generally very reliable about stepping up from his cage, although every now and then he’ll remind you that he’s an African Grey and would much rather negotiate for some head scritches first. 😄

If you’re interested in welcoming Merlin into your home, please complete our adoption application

Merlin is eligible for either:
🩶 A 4-week foster-to-adopt trial, or
🩶 A same-day adoption if you meet him, form a great connection, and decide it’s the right fit.

Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee adoption. We carefully review every application to ensure the best possible match for both Merlin and his future family.

If you think Merlin could be your perfect companion, we’d love to hear from you! Please help us share his post so we can find him the loving forever home he deserves. 🦜❤️
