Isn't Rosie just the cutest little muffin?! 😍 Rosie lives in a wonderful guardian home very handy to us. Every so often I like to have my pups come visit to build bonds so they are comfortable around us. It helps me to see how they are growing, how their personality is developing, etc. I can say that 6 month old Rosie is a joy to have around. She is such a happy-go-lucky puppy! She is playful, loves other dogs, loves to snuggle and she's super confident! Nothing ruffles her feathers! I am super happy to have her as a potential Momma some day. 🥰🩷

⛈️⚡️How can we help our fur kids through thunder and lightening storms? First and foremost, check yourself. Are you feeling anxious? If so, try to re-group and get yourself in a state of calm. Your pup will sense how you are feeling and may mimic you. Close your curtains to block the lightening and play some white noise or soothing music to help mask the thunder(if you have power) Give your pup something to chew. Chewing is a natural way that dogs calm themselves. Bullysticks, Yak chews, collagen sticks, lick mat with pb, etc. Sit close to your dog but be sure you don't coddle, pick up, say "It's okay, it's okay." This is a human way of communicating that dogs simply don't understand. This will only make the dog feel as though there really is something wrong. Let's do our best to not inadvertently cause our furry friends more anxiety. Calm/stable energy and be present, that's really what they need from their people. 🧘‍♀️🐶⛈️🌬⚡️

❗️❗️Dog walks and extreme heat warning. Please take caution when weather is hot. Your dog can overheat quite easily. If you must walk your dog, do an early morning or an evening walk. If you suspect your dog has gotten overheated(fast, excessive panting, sticky drool, fast heart rate) PLEASE DO NOT GIVE A BOWL OF WATER for them to guzzle down. It seems like the right thing to do but it can actually cause bloat which can be life threatening or they can drink too much and get water intoxication or aspirate the water. Give small sips of COOL NOT ICE COLD water. Get them to a cool area and get their paws cooled either by pouring cool water on them, wrapping cool wet towels on paws and wetting their groin and belly. Heat exhaustion is to be taken very seriously. It can escalate fast and become an emergency. 🐶🥵

Sharing my lab breeder friend's post about harnesses. She has some really good tips here. The only thing I would change is for a doodle or any puppy that has a fluffy coat is to not wear the harness all day as it can cause matting in their fur if worn for long periods. Other than that, great info Shakespeare's Legacy Labradors! 👏🐾

✨️Also, how cute is Koda?!! If you are looking to add a labrador into your life, I highly recommend Shannon. She runs the same kind of program as I do to produce well rounded puppies and the parents are all health tested! All pups in this current litter have homes however she will have some delicious chocolates coming up in a couple of months! Chocolates are my personal fave! 🤎

We have some very exciting news to share!! 🎉✨️Do you remember "Cocoa" from our 2024 Winter themed litter? Her parents are Mabel and Waylon. She was our keeper puppy in hopes she would become a Momma one day for us. She's been living the good life with her guardian family since she was 8 weeks old and her name is now Olive. Well, we just got the news that Olive passed her hip and elbow radiographs!! We had her tested last week and the vet sent them off to OFA(Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) and she passed!!! 🎊 Eeeek! What makes this extra special for me is that she's a Mabel puppy so we get to continue her lines and I'm bursting with excitement about that. You all know how much we love Mabel girl! Her guardians describe her as smart, super loving, snuggly, low-medium energy, loves other dogs and loves to please. She is full grown at 37lbs. Her guardians are head over heels in love with her and said how easy she's been to raise. She is 17 months old now and we like our Mom's to be as close to 2 years as possible before "dating" 😉. Her next heat cycle will likely be THE one. Exciting times ahead! 👏Keep an eye out for a post about a honeymoon between her and Mr. Goose. It will likely be late summer/fall. 😊🐾

Beautiful 6 month old Gaia looking spiffy after a groom. Her family sent me some sweet pics of her.🥰 Gaia will hopefully be a Momma in our program one day. Gaia is a standard Goldendoodle with a very high percentage of Golden Retriever in her genetics. She sure is a cutie pie! 😍🩷
