Wednesday had her first official vet checkup last week from our friends at .veterinary.hospital !! For a kitten who started out her life on the streets, she’s a perfectly healthy 1-year-old kitten! 🩺✅ She tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and the only major concern is a couple of her canines may have to be removed due to damage from poor nutrition from when she was living on the streets before we rescued her. She’s currently experiencing her first heat cycle, so getting her spayed is our top priority right now!

Her next appointment, which will be including her spay, booster shots, microchip, and dental work, will cost us over $1000 and we’re extremely low on funding 🥲

I am pleased to announce the name that has been picked for the sweet little girl that we rescued a few days ago…Everyone, meet Wednesday!! 🖤🦇🕸️🕷️

We tried many ideas before settling on the best obvious choice that was sitting right under our noses the entire time. Between her iconic scowl, the fact that it’s spooky season, she’s a mostly black tuxedo, and she was found on, you guessed it, Wednesday, it couldn’t be more of a fitting name for this sweet little girl! 🥰

We’re still in need of dry and wet kitten food donations for her, and she will need to get to the vet very soon to have a thorough exam. As of Friday evening, after we examined her briefly, once we allowed her to decompress, we had noticed that she was showing possible signs of abuse, which leads us to believe that there appears to be something more sinister at play from wherever she came from before nearly being run over in traffic. And, in addition to that, she’s also showing signs of either a false pregnancy or at the very early stages of pregnancy. All of this is purely speculation until a veterinarian can confirm our concerns.

🚨🚨Emergency Intake Alert!!!🚨🚨

In desperate need of donations for both wet and dry kitten food ASAP!!!

(And we would also graciously accept any donations towards her spay appointment that we will be booking very soon once she is stable enough🙏🏻)

On Wednesday evening, this sweet little girl’s life was spared after a few close calls with the bustling traffic of Winnipeg’s North End. Call it fate, but being in the right place at the right time, she was caught without a single scratch, thankfully!

She’s been treated for a moderate flea infestation, been given a safe space to decompress, a tummy full of food, and many kisses and snuggles (after her treatment of course! 😆)

We were apprehensive on taking her in, but because of how urgent her case was, and given all circumstances in that moment, I knew she needed immediate help.

✨ Double the love, double the happy ending ✨

On June 30, 2024, we welcomed two sweet sisters, Zoey and Mayze, into our rescue family. They spent 421 days in our care, filling our hearts with so much love, playfulness, and cuddles while they waited for the forever family they truly deserved.

Today, we are overjoyed to share that Zoey and Mayze were adopted together! 💜 Staying side by side, just as they were meant to be. Watching them blossom from shy girls into confident, affectionate companions has been such a gift, and now their next chapter begins—together, with a family who already adores them.

To their adopters: thank you for opening your hearts to not just one, but two beautiful souls. To everyone who supported, shared, and encouraged their journey—this happy ending is yours to celebrate too.

Here’s to a lifetime of love, snuggles, and double the joy for Zoey & Mayze! 🐾💫

💔 URGENT: Senior Cat Lucy Needs a Safe Place 💔

This is Lucy, a sweet 10-year-old girl whose world has just been turned upside down. Her owner has tragically lost his home and his job, and is now living out of his car. The new property owner of his former home has given him only a very small window of time to rehome Lucy before he “takes matters into his own hands.”

Lucy has nowhere to go. She has been a beloved companion for 10 years and deserves kindness, safety, and stability in her golden years — not to be discarded during the hardest time of her human’s life.

We are urgently seeking:
🐾 Rescue support willing to take her under their wing
🐾 Or, if possible, an adopter ready to give Lucy the loving retirement she deserves

As a small rescue, we don’t have the resources to keep every cat long-term, and we’re hoping that placement is found quickly.

Please share far and wide. Lucy’s life depends on finding help within the next few hours.

As of today, we still need to help find placement for the tabby female, and the mama and 3-4 kittens. If you know anyone willing to foster, or know a rescue who can take in one or both of these cases, please let me know so I can let the current caregiver know. We want to help so badly, but the space and funds just isnt available for us right now, but we will do what we can to help in any capacity that we can💜💜

🚨 Incoming Cats & Kittens – Rescue Help Needed 🚨

We have incoming surrenders from a Northern reserve and are looking for rescue partners who may have space to help. 💜

Three orphan kittens are coming in after the heartbreaking loss of their mom, who was attacked and killed by wild dogs from what we understand. It’s also been reported that they had a 4th sibling who sadly did not make it either and at this time, we do not know how that kitten passed. From what we’ve been told, these 3 surviving orphans will be going to Winnipeg Kitten Adoption, who have a bottle feeder ready for them. 🙏

That leaves us with the following still needing placement:
🐾 4 kittens (~approx. 6 weeks old) with their mama (approx. 1 year old)
🐾 1 young adult female (~approx. 1 year old) – their “auntie”
🐾 1 young adult male (~approx. 1 year old) – orange boy with a back leg injury

As a very small, new rescue, we don’t currently have the funds or foster capacity to take on more long-term intakes. That said, we are committed to keeping them safe on arrival until another rescue is able to step in. The sooner the better!
