Happy 3rd Birthday to our little stinker Boomer 🫶🏼
Boomie was our first foster and I was determined at the time to remain a 1 dog household. We’d drop him back to the shelter for every meet & greet with potential families knowing we might never see him again, but he just kept making his way back to us (hence his name, short for boomerang 😆).
At some point, after many months, we realized we just couldn’t let him go. Boomer supplies us with an endless amount of cuddles and laughs, with his constant need to steal body heat and purely chaotic antics. He’s a total goofy meat ball, bringing the type of comedic relief that anyone could use these days.
Since we’ve known him, Boomer has suffered from Pinnal Vasculitis which causes the tips of his ears to bleed and disintegrate. Although it’s likely caused by frostbite during early puppyhood, trying to cure this chronic painful condition has left me doubting my worth as a pet parent on more than one occasion (anyone dealing with a chronic health issue with your pet - my heart goes out to you ❤️🩹). I’m so happy to share that we have made it through the past year with only three flare ups (which is when you’ll see him in his babushka hat 🧢) and are feeling cautiously optimistic for our little guy.
For his special day, we’re going to visit a friends cattle farm which he will no doubt be stoked about (he currently thriving on a pure beef diet and watches Yellowstone like it’s his day job 🐄 😂).
