The wild guppy summer tub pond fish new aquarium home.

This tank houses my Peruvian wild guppy colony as well as a few wild mollys.

Peruvian wild guppies are small, hardy freshwater livebearers from South America known for being smaller and more naturally camouflaged than fancy store bought strains.
Males grow to about 1 inch, while females are larger at 1.5 inches. Unlike bright commercial breeds, wild males feature subtle iridescent spots, black markings, or dashes of orange, blue, green and purple. Females are a plain olive-grey with a dark gravid spot.
They are native to the Amazon river basin and clear streams in Peru. They are peaceful, active shoaling fish that thrive in groups. They feed on algae, insect larvae, and microscopic organisms. But eat just about anything in the aquarium. There prefer temperatures of 22°C to 28°C (72°F to 82°F) and neutral to alkaline pH of 7.0 to 8.0.

Summer Tub Pond is Down (Fish Breeding Numbers)

Temperatures have become too cold to keep the pond going. For those of you that were interested, besides the tons of plants that came out of the pond. Here are the fish, shrimp and snail numbers. The tub was mainly for breeding up some wild guppies and that goal has been accomplished

Wild Guppy Adults x 34
Wild Guppy Juvenile and Fry x 145
Dwarf Neon Rainbowfish x 6
Rice Fish Platinum and Kahaku x 10
Wild Molly x 4
Orange Pumpkin Shrimp x 16
Assassin Snail x 16
Purple Mystery Snail x 3

Some of these fish shrimp and snails will be for sale in the store. A new tank has been set up in my personal tanks for the wild guppy colony. I will show that in the near future.
