PROJECT REVEAL✨

For YEARS, many of you have been asking me to design a puffin. I love designing birds but, for some reason, I never got around to create one... Until now, that is!

This ‘Atlantic Puffin’ design will be one of the 25 exclusive designs included in my next book, Cross-Stitch by the Sea. This book, set to be released on September 29, will celebrate the beauty of ocean and coastal landscapes and creatures.

FOX & BUTTERFLIES 🦊

Any fox fans in here?!

If you have a copy of my first book, Cross-Stitch in the Forest, you’ll already be familiar with this design called ‘Fox & Butterflies’. It’s a pattern I had a lot of fun designing and I feel is the perfect project to stitch to celebrate the upcoming arrival of spring!

This design will launch as a stand alone pattern on March 1st and you’ll be able to purchase it as a digital chart. If you’re interested in the printed version, you can ask your local needlework shop to get in touch with me so they can add it to their shelves!

Yes, yes. There will be dolphins in my next book, Cross-Stitch by the Sea! How could I possibly decide to not include everybody’s favourite sea creature!

BLUEBIRD & BLOSSOMS🌸

If you’re familiar with the cross stitch world, you know that the big buzz these days is the Nashville Needlework Market happening in early March. This market, exclusively for wholesale retailers, is the largest needlework trade show in the industry.

Right now, designers are revealing all their new (gorgeous!) releases and retailers are taking preorders from stitchers across North America (and beyond).

I would be lying if I said that I didn’t feel a little bit of FOMO. Every year, I wonder if Pigeon Coop should participate in this show. It would be a great way for a Canadian designer like myself to meet retailers and get new sets of eyes of my designs. The cross stitch industry is much more developed in the US. However, I once again decided against applying this year due to the complicated Canada-USA trade relations.

But it doesn’t mean I can’t participate in the frenzy in my own way! I will be releasing a few new designs in March, starting with this one called ‘Bluebird and Blossoms’.

If you’re interested in stitching this cute feathery friend, the digital pattern will be available as of March 1st. If you prefer printed charts, ask your local needlework shop to get in touch with me! All my designs are available in printed formats through local shops.

Some of you spotted this a little earlier than planned 👀, so it feels like the right moment to officially share it myself!

I’m excited to reveal the cover (and title) of my next book: Cross-Stitch by the Sea, published by . It will be released on September 29, 2026 and is already available for preorder anywhere you purchase your books.

This book is a love letter to the ocean. Inside, you’ll find 25 original cross-stitch projects inspired by coastal scenes, seaside landscapes and ocean dwellers. From quiet shorelines to deeper blues, each design will celebrate the rhythm, power, and beauty of the sea.

As with my previous book, I will also make sure to share a bit about my personal connection to these environments and animals, along with the ocean-themed nerdy facts you’ve come to expect from Pigeon coop!🤓

This project has been quietly in the works for a long time, and I’m very proud of where it landed. I can’t wait to share more about the book in the months ahead and for us to eventually stitch our way through the ocean together!

NORTHERN LIGHTS ✨🪡

‘Aurora’, one of the projects in my first book, Cross-Stitch in the Forest, is a design that makes use of a simple colour palette and strategic placement of negative space (of course!) to showcase the majestic Aurora Borealis.

Although I have been able to catch a glimpse of northern lights in the past, it’s one of my goals to make my way north one day to be able to fully witness this magical spectacle at least once in my life!

Who else feels that spark of magic when the first snow falls? ❄️✨ This design called ‘Snowy Woods’ was inspired by those crisp winter evenings where the trees stand still and the stars feel just a little closer.

Whether we like it or not, winter is on its way… Better to just embrace it, get cozy and stitch something nature-y!
