Itās 4/20⦠so letās have a real talk about your dog.
Iām all for adults making their own choices. But your dog didnāt sign up for that lifestyle.
Every year, I see an increase in calls on April 20th from panicked pet parents because their dog got into marijuanaāedibles, joints, oils, you name it. And hereās the truth:
THC and dogs do NOT mix.
Dogs are far more sensitive to THC than humans. What might feel āmildā to you can cause serious symptoms in your dog, like:
⢠Disorientation
⢠Loss of coordination
⢠Vomiting
⢠Tremors
⢠Incontinence
⢠Extreme lethargy or agitation
And edibles? Even worse. Now youāre adding chocolate, xylitol, or other toxic ingredients into the mix.
Letās clear something up:
CBD is not the same as THC.
High-quality, THC-free CBD (used responsibly and under guidance) can sometimes support anxiety, pain, or inflammation in dogs.
But tossing your dog a bite of your brownie or letting them āchill with youā? Thatās not bonding⦠thatās negligence.
There is no safe ārecreational doseā of THC for dogs.
So today, if youāre celebrating:
⢠Keep all products completely out of reach
⢠Donāt leave things unattended (dogs are opportunists)
⢠Educate guests who may not know better
⢠Call your vet immediately if you suspect exposure
Your dog trusts you to make safe choices for them.
Letās keep it that way.
