Lifting Stars Pet Homecare is owned and operated by Dr. Jeff Berkshire. Since graduating from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2005, Jeff has practiced small animal medicine and surgery for over eleven years. His experience as a full-time associate veterinarian includes working with Westminster Veterinary Group in Westminster, California (four years), Care Pet Wellness Group in North Vancouver (two years) and Granville Island Veterinary Hospital in Vancouver (five years). Jeff is a member of the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia, the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement and the International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care. ⭐ Meet Erin ⭐

Erin doesn’t remember a time when animals weren’t part of her life, dogs, cats, horses, guinea pigs and even a squirrel have all had a place in it! 🐾

Erin has been working in veterinary medicine since 2009, starting out in a mixed animal practice in rural Queensland before moving to Canada in 2012. After working in reception, veterinary assisting and practice management, Erin completed her Registered Veterinary Technologist diploma through TRU in 2024 and joined Lifting Stars in May 2025. 💜

Erin’s 17-year-old pup, Thelma, lives back home with family in Australia, and she makes sure to visit her every year. 🥹

Outside of work, Erin describes herself as more “outside-y” than outdoorsy, think patios with friends, pub quizzes, pet-sitting and social league netball rather than hiking up a mountain!

She’s also currently saving for a wildlife volunteer program in Africa. 🐘🌍

We’re so happy to have Erin as part of the Lifting Stars team. ⭐

Lifting Stars is looking to hire a compassionate veterinarian to join our team here in beautiful Vancouver.

We’re ideally looking for someone who can commit to 2–3 days a week long term. Our work is focused on in-home euthanasia and palliative care, supporting pets and their families through some of their hardest moments.

This is meaningful, slower-paced work where you have the time to truly connect with each family and make a difference.
