We are a newly renovated hospital that combines McEwen and Frontenac, two practices with more than 30+ years of experience each!

We provide everything from examinations to life-saving surgeries. You and your pet’s experience is our top priority! McEwen Animal Hospital was opened on Bath Road in 1954, by Dr. R. McEwen, to fulfill a need in the expanding Kingston Township for veterinary care of large animals and then evolving to include small animals. The tradition of veterinary care was carried on by Dr. B. Karschau and his

team in the 1980s through to 2008 when Dr. K. Rutledge and his caring team took over to continue providing veterinary care for the surrounding area. In 2019, McEwen Animal Hospital and Frontenac Animal Hospital were acquired together. The two clinics have since merged and relocated to newly renovated premises, all in an effort to continue to provide veterinary care to their existing patients.

🌟 July’s Pet of the Month: Sky! 🌟

Okay… we may have missed July by a landslide. 😂 But hey, it’s never too late to celebrate a cutie like Sky! 💙

Sky is a wonderful, energetic Yorkie who always knows how to make an entrance at the clinic — especially when he arrives in one of his adorable outfits! 👔🐶✨

Whether he’s dressed to impress, showing off his energetic little personality, or happily enjoying one of his favourite dental chews, Sky always brings a little extra personality (and a whole lot of cuteness!) to our day. 🦷🦴🥰

We’re pretty sure Sky would agree that dental chews are an excellent reward for being such a good boy! 😋🐾

So, better late than never… let’s hear it for Sky, our very belated July Pet of the Month! 🎉💙🐶

🐾 Pet of the Month: Ginny! 🐾

Meet Ginny, the sweet 1-year-old French Bulldog! 💕 Her mom adopted her from the Humane Society a few months ago, and she quickly became a very loved member of the family.

Ginny is a happy, energetic girl who wasn’t feeling her best while dealing with allergies. With a new diet and the right medications, she’s feeling so much better and is back to her playful, happy self! 🥰🐶

We’re so happy to celebrate this adorable girl as our Pet of the Month! ❤️✨
