My name is Brogan and I rescue cats in the area of Tweed, ON🇨🇦
My goal is to reduce the number of stray & feral cats in our community. Follow along for more!

I provide TNR services for ferals, and with help of foster homes, adopt out the friendly ones. My name is Brogan, and I am the self proclaimed "Tweed Cat Lady". I started Friends and Ferals in 2021 as sort of a "hobby" to try and help reduce the stray cats in my neighborhood. Since then, with the help of my community and other willing hands, I have been able to help over 200+ cats/kittens. My main

goal for Friends and Ferals is focusing on TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) services for the feral cats of Tweed and surrounding areas. I spay and neuter as many stray cats as possible and find homes for the ones that are adoptable. I rely on donations to raise the money to fund spays/neuters, for food and other veterinary costs that come associated with running a rescue. I will always continue to advocate for feral cats and do as much as I can to help the many felines in our community. Friends and Ferals is always looking for fosters, adopters, and donations of ANY kind (not just monetary). Any and all support is greatly appreciated. Successful weekend 🤎

We trapped this little family (minus dad) from a backyard right here in Tweed — only about 2 minutes from our place.

The homeowner reached out last week hoping we could help momma and her babies. Over the years, he’s brought a few kittens to the Humane Society and mentioned that he’s actually noticed fewer strays around recently, which we hope is thanks to the hard work being done by not only us, but also other local rescues.

Momma and kittens(3) are all a little spicy 🌶️ The kittens are around six weeks old and are already off to a foster home where they’ll be socialized and given the chance at a better future. Momma will most likely be TNR’d, as will dad once we catch him — hopefully very soon.

Thank you so much Andrew for all your help getting this family safely to us before momma had another litter and these babies followed the same cycle. It takes a village!! 🤎

Meet Panda! 🐼

This handsome boy came from the same area in Tweed that we’ve been working recently — and from the very same house sweet Holden came from🌈.

Unlike many of the cats we help through TNR, Panda is far too friendly to be returned outside. He’s currently staying in a kennel at the clinic, but we would love to get him into a foster home ASAP where he can be comfortable and loved!

Dopple🖤

If you’re looking for a true snuggle bug, Dopple is your guy. This sweet boy absolutely lives for attention — lap sits, full body cuddles, head smooches… Dopple wants love and he wants it ALL❤️.

After spending the first couple years of his life living on the country side outside of Tweed, he’s recently discovered that toys are actually super fun, and has enjoyed making up for lost time! 🐍🧶

Dopple is neutered, vaccinated, and FIV/FeLV negative. He really enjoys the company of other cats, but dogs are a definite no thank you from him.

WE GOT HER!!!😭🖤🍗
I cannot tell you how freaking relieved and elated I am right now!!!

As many you have seen over the last few days, Momma Lindsay has still been hanging around the Foster‘s property, but has been extremely stubborn about coming back inside. Many live traps were set over the last few days, a carrier with a pull string baited with food, and trails of food into the home. All of which she was interested in, but not desperate enough.

Well, I’ve heard it before over the years and I’ve never been desperate enough to try it myself; but turns out Mama could not resist the Colonel’s original recipe!

Shannon decided last night she was going to try the KFC trick and after a few hours- BOOM! 💥

Thank you so much Shannon for your dedication to getting Lindsay back safe inside.❤️ Your nights spent sleeping on the couch and staking out were not in vain!

She was meowing her head off and even poked her head into the patio door but wouldn’t come in!

🚨 MISSING FOSTER CAT 🚨
SEMI FERAL AND TERRIFIED

Well.. add this to the list of posts I’ve NOT wanted to make the last few weeks.

Mama Lindsay escaped through a window in her foster home. She is MIA from the area of Albion street in Belleville.

To say that I am devastated and beyond worried would be a major understatement. I am completely sick about this poor mama, who is NOT spayed and NOT familiar with the area.

A live trap has been set, and I ask ANYONE in the area to please keep eyes out. She is likely close by, hiding under a deck or in a shed etc.

To be honest, I would be absolutely shocked if we ever get her back… and that completely breaks my heart. We will do our best for this girl, but after the last couple weeks, I’m gutted and just feeling DONE…💔
