One of many days in my life as a dog walker 🐾💙

Some days start earlier, some days go longer
Some days include cats visits, some days it’s all walks!

All I know is I enjoy every single day doing this and each week gets busier with new faces to walk and take care of and meet & greets!

Jaspers favourite things are tummy rubs and surprise kiss attacks and I am totally here for it!

Meet Yuki!

Some dogs just need someone to believe in them… and Yuki is one of those dogs.

Yuki is a sweet young Mastiff mix who I began walking to help with his leash reactivity - when a dog feels frustrated or overwhelmed on leash and reacts to other dogs by barking or lunging. The leash can make some dogs feel restricted, and that frustration can boil over, even though they’re completely different once they have space.. Despite that, Yuki has the gentlest soul and walks like an absolute angel.

When we first started, Yuki wore a muzzle as an extra safety precaution. With patience, consistency, and all of his amazing progress, he no longer needs one. 👏🏻

Our biggest focus has been staying calm, creating distance when needed, and rewarding Yuki for choosing to focus on me instead of the dogs around him. We’d have him sit, look at me, and earn lots of yummy treats while other dogs passed by. We’ve also been slowly introducing him to more dogs from a comfortable distance so he can continue building positive experiences at his own pace.

And the progress? It’s been incredible. 🥹 He has even started choosing to lie down calmly as some dogs walk by instead of reacting. It might seem like a small win to some, but those little moments are HUGE.

Outside of training, Yuki is the sweetest boy. He has the biggest smile, takes treats so gently (and chews each one about 100 times 😂), and has the cutest little heart marking on his back - which I truly think represents who he is: a gentle giant with the biggest heart. 🤍

I’m so proud of both Yuki and his owner, Laura. As Laura’s confidence has grown, so has Yuki’s, and with consistency, I know this gentle giant will continue to thrive. Thank you for trusting me with your amazing boy! 💛🐾
