We are happy to announce that our darling Raymond has found his forever home with one of our volunteers. Christine fell in love with Raymond’s engaging personality and his friendly disposition. He is now enjoying the one on one attention that Christine and her husband Paul are giving him.

The volunteers at ORA would like to say a big thank you to Alexa the manager of Global Pet Foods at 1575 Ellesmere and Tobias the manager Global Pet Foods at 122 Ellesmere for choosing Ora as their recipient of Global’s Have a Heart campaign. All the money raised goes directly towards supporting the animals in our care.

We need your help on Wednesday May 28 Sophie underwent surgery to remove a growth on the left side of her mouth. We are hopeful that it is not cancerous and are waiting patiently for the results of the biopsy. The operation cost us $1200. 00 We are appealing to 0RA’s friends & supporters to open their hearts and their wallets and help us cover the cost of this operation. Looking for a good home for this beautiful purebred 3 year old girl. She is spayed. We have her vaccination records up to date as of Oct 11, 2022. There is a certificate from the Canadian Kennel Club she is a purebred, non-breeding Siberian Husky, black and white colour.
Very active, needs a long walk every day and some training. She would be well suited as an only pet or with other large dogs. Not recommended for families with young children. Let us know if you are interested.

For more than a decade we have been holding every Christmas season in the months of November and December, our well known Pet Photos with Santa events in different venues throughout Toronto and the GTA.
This year everything is different
All but ONE event had to be canceled
We are looking forward to see you next Saturday in Newmarket
Covid safety rules are enforced and only companion animals can be photographed with Santa while caregivers must wait outside.
Despite these required limitations, you will get the usual great quality photos and memories and your pet will have fun!
Santa is portrayed by our extraordinary Doggie Santa, Rod Bemister.
Photos in decorated frames including your high resolution electronic copy are $30.00
All proceeds, as always, go in its entirety to the rescued cats and dogs under the care of ORA-Organization for the Rescue of Animals.

DAISY URGENTLY NEEDS A HOME!

Daisy was rescued by ORA 12 years ago, she was just one to two year old at the time. She was fostered by ORA for approximately two years, before we found the perfect adoptive home for her. She was loved and cared with much attention for ten years, but recently her adoptive mom passed away and her dad cannot anylonger care for her, due to serious health reasons. With heavy heart, he has asked us to find a new home for her. It is urgent because Daisy is now alone in the house and that is a short term arrangement.

Please consider adopting Daisy.

This is what Daisy says about herself:
"My name is Daisy, I’m a 14ish year young tortoiseshell cat who loves to cuddle up by the fireplace or on your lap! I really don't like other animals, but I like people and having my ears and belly rubbed, being brushed, and playing with a laser pointer (though in fairly short bursts as I do also like to laze around and nap quite a lot). I am at my best with an older person or couple looking to add a feline companion to their family.
I am low maintenance, easygoing (as long as I am the only animal in the house), and I am healthy though maybe slightly on the plump side as I LOVE mealtime!

IT IS ARGO’S BIRTHDAY: TODAY HE IS 21 YEAR OLD!
He was born on December 5th 1998, in another century and in another millennium!

How Argo ended with ORA?
Argo’s Mom , Suzie, was rescued from a nearby barn, just few days before the barn was demolished. Suzie was very pregnant and a week later she delivered four gorgeous kittens. Two of them were adopted out but returned under ORA’s care 14 years later when their adopters decided that they no longer wanted them.
All Argo’s siblings died in their late teens and so did Mom Suzie. Argo , however has been beating them all. Argo is in good health, however he has lost a bit of weight. He is very affectionate, he is a purring machine and would like to spend all day in someone’s lap. He loves to give big hugs! Here Argo is presented with his birthday cake: one of several organic chicken liver puddings prepared by our Cathy Dreksler. Argo is visibly enjoying it and there are a few more to share with all ORA’s cats here for a Big Birthday Celebration!🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱
