🌲🏕️Vacation mode: activated!
I'm heading off for a couple of weeks and will be on and off the grid, which means slower response times across email, texts, DMs — all of it. If you don't hear back right away, don't worry, I haven't disappeared. I'm just somewhere with no WiFi, no electricity and no cell reception.
Back the last week of August and ready to get right back to it. Give your pups a scratch from me. See you soon! 🐾

First scent detection trial in the books — and Balto absolutely nailed it. 🎉
Three searches, three perfect scores, all in one day, which means he earned his 'Started' title with the "Special" designation on his very first try. I could not be prouder of this dog.
Huge thanks to SDDA for such a fun, well-run trial.
Also a big thanks to Swansea Dog Obedience Club 🐾 for the great classes and helping us learn the sport!
We're already signed up mentally for the next level. Onward and upward, buddy. 🐾

Does your dog bark, lunge, or become overwhelmed by other dogs or people while on leash?

Join us for a structured, supportive workshop where you'll have the opportunity to safely practice around real-life distractions in a controlled environment. Every dog is given the space they need to learn and succeed—without judgment or unnecessary pressure.

🐕 During this workshop you'll:
✔️ Build calmer responses around dogs and people
✔️ Practice real-life leash handling skills with professional guidance
✔️ Work at your dog's individual comfort level
✔️ Gain confidence in a safe, supportive setting alongside others working through similar challenges

Every exercise is customized to the group and adjusted to each dog's individual needs, triggers, and progress.

What an absolutely fantastic two courses put on by the with Nelson Hodges! (A little late posting... but better late than never!)
These were, without a doubt, two of the most valuable courses I've ever attended. I came away with feeling like so many of my training concepts were broadened further, and deepening my understanding even more of canine behaviour. I honestly learned more than I have from many seminars, and I can't wait for the opportunity to learn from Nelson again in the future.
The dogs had an incredible experience too! They learned so much, gained confidence, and made plenty of new friends along the way.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in putting these courses together. Continuing to learn and grow is one of the best investments we can make—for ourselves and for the dogs we work with. 🐾

🐶🐱 Cats and dogs don’t just “figure it out” on their own… they learn it.
🤝 With the right structure, clear communication, and consistent supervision, even animals with very different instincts can learn how to coexist, play appropriately, and respect each other’s space.
🐿️Foxy does have a prey drive.That didn’t magically disappear. What changed is her understanding.
☝️Through clear training (including e-collar work), she’s learned that small animals are not food, and how to stay calm and gentle around them 🐾
⚠️Safe interactions don’t happen by chance
They happen because humans step in, guide, and advocate for both animals every step of the way.
