Taking a moment of appreciation for these dogs, and maybe some recognition for ourselves!
We get complimented often on how great our pack is, and because we are bad at taking compliments, make jokes like “we pay well”, which we do.
But that’s because we all work hard for each other, as a team. We put in the work when we add each new dog, teaching them the rules. They know if something goes awry, we will advocate for them. We remain consistent and they know what to expect.
Since Caitlin has moved away, there have been a lot of challenges, but it’s moreso with logistics, and not with managing our pack.
When there were two of us, we were easily able to lend a helping hand to someone in need, the other could cover our dogs for the time being.
Since Caitlin has left… I am actually still able to help others. They call me “Mary Puppin’s” because I am over prepared for almost any scenario. Our dogs will standby when needed, knowing the difference between “work” and “play”. “Mary is puppin’s again”, they probably think to themselves.
I am so proud of them every single day, and am obliged to give ourselves a pat on the back for the work we’ve put in. We’ve laid a foundation that allows our pack to thrive, set an example for others, and continue to make a positive impact on our community, despite difficult adjustments.
We work hard, to play equally as hard. I think that shows, and truly couldn’t be more proud. 🫶🐾
