About fifteen years ago, I had my first introduction into the wonderful world of digital graphics software. After trudging through long hours of tedious self teaching exercises, I finally learned the basics of the craft, and then totally fell in love with the overall creative process. Throughout the years I tinkered with a variety of digital projects, including designing business logos, editing p
hotographs, and creating art media projects. Essentially, this became my ideal go-to hobby, and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities that it afforded me to break away from the stressors of everyday life. It allowed me a chance to gear down that crucial inner cranium muscle into a neutral relax and unwind mode! Flash forward to 2015 when my family was forced to say a final good-bye to our beloved dog Buddy after 17 wonderful years of dedicated tail wagging love. For those who haven't experienced the loss of a dog or cat, it is truly akin to losing a family member. There is a genuine hollow, mournful feeling that undoubtedly accompanies the event. Instinctively we search for ways to find comfort in any personal loss that we experience, and my outlet led me directly back into a new digital media project. I decided to craft a special memorial mural in loving memory of our dearly departed hound (http://i.imgur.com/hC13QzN.jpg). After a couple of months of experiencing the unmistakable void left in the wake of our loss, I quietly pondered the possibility of acquiring another pet. At first I was resistant because I was not quite sure if I was ready to set sail on the new pet ownership journey (yet again). Then, one day after attending a funeral (the third in a three week span I might add) I decided to get into my car and let spontaneity take over the reins. I charted a course to Brantford. Why Brantford you might ask? Well, earlier that morning I had spotted an on-line ad offering puppies for sale, and there was a picture of one specifically that absolutely drew me in. Needless to say that I arrived and then departed Brantford with a special little bundle in tow. Was it worth the hour and a half drive each way? You're darn tootin', the look of surprise and delight on everyone's face when I got home was absolutely priceless. So please pop in and say hi to Teddy, the inspiration behind my newest hobby adventure! He truly is a delight, an absolute canine clown, and I can't even describe how much joy that I experience integrating this little bundle into my digital media hobby. I decided to create a series of comical cartoon type illustrations in a hybrid photo/drawing format. The results bring smiles and chuckles to many, and I feel absolute delight throughout the entire process. A definite proverbial win-win scenario. I recently set up this page to share my hobby creations. I hope you enjoy! Sincerely,
Marty, and of course Teddy!
