POV: You bred for a smaller foal… and got THIS!! 👀
Keep an eye on this one! He’s Out On Bond!

At just 8 weeks old, this c**t is already enormous beside his 16.2hh mama — despite intentionally breeding her to a smaller stallion in hopes of producing a more moderate-sized foal. 😅

So now the question is…

How big do we think he’s going to get? ⬇️

One of the most debated topics in breeding is how much influence the mare versus the stallion has on size. While stallion selection absolutely matters, mare size, uterine environment, genetics hidden deeper in the pedigree, growth rates, nutrition and overall development all play a role in the final outcome.

A smaller stallion doesn’t always guarantee a smaller foal.
A big mare can still produce a giant.
And sometimes the “surprise package” ends up being the standout athlete.

Breeding is part science, part strategy… and part mystery. ✨

When planning a cross, breeders often try to balance:
▪️ Height & bone
▪️ Scope & athleticism
▪️ Growth rate & maturity
▪️ Rideability & durability
▪️ Market goals and discipline

But at the end of the day, genetics LOVE to humble us. 😂

So tell us:
👉 How tall do you think this c**t will finish?
👉 Have you ever bred for one outcome and gotten the total opposite?
👉 Do you think mare size or stallion size has the bigger influence?

A great farrier job doesn’t end the moment the horse walks away from the cross ties.
What happens between visits matters just as much.

Caring for the external hoof wall between trims and shoeing appointments helps protect hoof integrity, maintain balance, and support long-term soundness — for both elite performance horses and everyday partners.

Why hoof wall care matters between visits:

• Helps prevent cracks, chips, and wall separation
• Supports nail retention and shoe stability
• Protects against excessive drying OR over-softening from changing weather conditions
• Maintains better breakover and balance as the hoof grows out
• Helps performance horses maintain peak efficiency and comfort during training and competition
• Keeps trail, pleasure, and retired horses more comfortable moving around daily
• Preserves the quality of the hoof capsule for future farrier work
• Encourages healthier overall hoof growth over time

Performance horses ask a lot from their feet — but so do everyday horses navigating mud, turnout, hard ground, changing seasons, and daily movement.

“No hoof, no horse” is repeated often for a reason.
Healthy movement starts from the ground up. 🐴

Thank you for creating products that truly support hoof health between cycles.
for consistently putting thoughtful process into the balance of our growing horses.
for the feed support that initiates great quality growth.
for ensuring saddle fit that allows for balanced movement and development, ultimately supporting the whole horse.

She’s 15 months old. She has speed, coordination, agility (with a lead change) and confidence!
And she’s still got time to develop.
The difference between a 15-month-old Thoroughbred and an 18-month-old heading into a yearling sale can be remarkable.

Those months matter.

Proper turnout over varied terrain helps develop balance, bone density, coordination, and natural muscle — something that managed exercise can’t fully replace. Hills, open fields, changing footing, and freedom to move, all play a role in building the athletic foundation we hope to see later under tack.

A thoughtful prep program isn’t about making babies look “finished.” It’s about supporting healthy development while carefully introducing conditioning, handling, routine, and strength.

Between 15 and 18 months, many yearlings will naturally:
• deepen through the shoulder and hip
• add topline and muscle tone
• strengthen through the hind end (she already has sprinter b***y!)
• improve coordination and balance
• mature mentally with consistent handling and turnout
🫣 her paddock mates have not matured however they provide great testimony to her ability to manage chaos and diffuse awkward situations 🙄

The best-prepared yearlings still look like horses allowed to grow up naturally — athletic, confident, and correct in their movement.

Good prep enhances development. It doesn’t rush it.

Keep a close eye on this filly. She’s a special final edition for the late great Canadian leading sire Souper Speedy out of Kentucky bred mare AllWeHaveIsNow (Bellamy Road).

There’s a very short window after foaling where a clean shiny mare just isn’t the priority (or even a possibility)😂

🛁Bathing a new broodmare sounds simple… until you realize:
• removing her from the foal for any amount of time can turn into a full production
• that “post foaling perfume” actually matters because the foal recognizes her scent
• and for live cover rebreeding… the stallion is a lot more interested in “mare smell” than fresh lavender shampoo 🫠

🧽🫧So while everyone loves a cute foal aside a sparkling clean shiny mare, sometimes the best management decision is letting mom stay a little crusty, a little sweaty, and very much smelling like a momma horse.

Broodmare life isn’t always glamorous… but it’s all part of the process. 🐴🤍

Lucky for this Queen, summer switched on and we still fill troughs by hose. 🍀
Everyone’s version of a spa day is different🚿

Nothing humbles a horse person faster than “white” legs after mucky/sweaty/dusty turnout OR the “I slept right in my 💩pile” nap!

If your horse has chrome, socks, stockings, or a blaze… you already know:✨ Yellow stains✨ Grass marks✨ Mud stains that somehow survive THREE baths

A brilliant white shampoo isn’t just about looks — it matters.

✔️ Bright markings elevate the overall presentation and polished care of your horse
✔️ Clean white legs reduce risk of skin irritation on areas of more sensitive skin.
✔️ Clean legs allow for more accurate evaluation of small structural and tissue changes - details matter!

Because there’s a difference between “clean enough” … and WHITE-white. 👀🤍

What’s the hardest stain on your horse to get out?

Happy Mother’s Day to the broodmares — the quiet strength behind generations. 🤍

The horse world is built on the backs of incredible mares who give us talent, heart, athleticism, intelligence, and spirit. They are teachers, protectors, nurturers, and the foundation of every pedigree and every dream.

From the first nicker to the inaugural wobbly steps, broodmares shape the future long before the spotlight ever arrives.

Today we celebrate the mothers who gave us champions — both in the barn and in life. 🍀🐴

He’s Earned his Name ‘Out On Bond’ with his Bad Boy ways. He’s trying REALLY hard to be a good boy (he also really don’t have any other options since his momma is the best Boss Mare broodmare).

A good broodmare is worth her weight in gold. Clear boundaries and consistent rules set foals up to succeed in life both interacting with other horses in a herd and with humans when we can mimic the boundaries and rules set by mum.
