Desi's Heart Rescue Our mission is to bring love and hope into the lives of innocent animals through rescue, rehabilitation and adoption with focus on semi-feral and feral cats.

We have been rescuing stray, abandoned, feral and semi-feral cats and kittens for 12 years now. To date, we have rescued, vaccinated, spayed/neutered over 400 cats and kittens from the City of Thunder Bay. We also feed six stray cat colonies daily.

Our precious Diamond update: Diamond had her mass removed today and biopsy sent in. Her bowel had inverted (sort of like when you turn your socks inside out) from the mass. No wonder she was in so much pain. Dr. V put some stitches in to hopefully prevent it from happening again. Diamond has to stay overnight to make sure she doesn’t develop a fever.
We are so glad we brought her to the vet as soon as we noticed she wasn’t herself. Waiting could have been deadly for her. 🙏

We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of generosity from everyone this past week. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We have more than enough food now to feed as many cats as we can. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 💗🐾@

Our beautiful Diamond goes in for her big surgery tomorrow - we hope and pray she will be okay. She is such a petite girl. Diamond, her mother and siblings were our very first rescue. She is 15 so this is a huge deal. It is suspected that her bowel is inverted - and the mass may be cancerous… but without surgery we will never know. 💔

Aspen goes in for his dental Thursday - he has an abscess that has to be addressed even though he is high risk with his heart.

Jessie goes in Friday for his check up.
