Mama Fawn is back in her foster home with Lauri. She had a VERY difficult day!!
When her labour was not progressing, after she gave birth to 1 stillborn, we rushed her to our vet office who examined her, took an xray and decided to give her oxytocin to push her labour forward. She had 2 more kits, pictured below who are stable and still nursing well.
Her labour stalled again so a c-section was performed. Dr. Tori and many staff were on hand. They ultimately removed 5 more babies who were sadly deceased. 1 of which was already mummified, 2 had severe cleft palates and 2 were tiny. That's a whopping 8 kittens total!
Thank goodness we have very good vet care by an extremely great vet team who saw us at a moments notice and cared for Fawn all day long! Had it not been for them and foster Lauri's quick action, Fawn wouldn't be here today.
We are hopeful but guarded for her 2 remaining kittens. Lauri won't be sleeping much as she does round the clock care. THANK YOU LAURI!!
A BIG THANK YOU to Dr. Gillies, Dr. Tori, Erin, Jeana, Stacey, Ashton and everyone else at Romeo Pet Hospital for your dedication today for Fawn!
Fawn is now spayed🥳
