Our goal was $1000, and only with a few of you, it quickly happened! 🥹
But our community didn't stop there! You raised us $2830 towards our fencing project for our new intake/quarantine building! 😲

We are so grateful. This means success and a chance at life for our dogs to come.

Whenever you look around our facility, its just one giant puzzle made up of pieces of effort, love, care, and dedication from hundreds of individuals and organizations that fight to keep our doors open every single day.

We mean it when we say, we wouldn't be able to do what we do without you. 🥹

Remy is a 5-year-old female Anatolian Shepherd mix.

And at 494 days in our shelter, she is our longest-standing resident.

When people read Remy’s adoption notes, they sometimes see the cautions before they see the dog.

They worry that those cautions mean Remy is incapable of love. Incapable of affection. Incapable of being safe. Incapable of having a full, happy, fulfilling life.

But the truth is almost the complete opposite.

Remy IS capable.

She is capable of so much.

Remy is the kind of dog your heart doesn't forget. The kind of dog that makes you understand the phrase, “We are so undeserving of dogs.”

She is the dog who will randomly trot up beside you on a walk, look up at you with the sweetest eyes, and give you a little nudge for a pet—as if she's saying, thank you for taking me on this adventure.

She's the dog who will join you on the couch and patiently wait for your attention. And if you get too distracted by your phone, she'll nudge it right out of your hand before flipping onto her back with her head in your lap.

Be in the moment.

That's Remy.

She is incredibly present. She notices the world around her. She notices energy. She notices people.

She can spend an entire day snuggled beside you watching true crime documentaries, but she's equally happy taking a leisurely walk around the lake or wandering the neighbourhood with you.

Just don't ask her to hike a mountain. 😂

Remy will eventually lay herself down and make you question your decision to own a dog that weighs approximately 100 pounds while you're standing halfway up a mountain.

She has boundaries. She has opinions. And honestly? We love that about her.

Yes, Remy takes a little time to get to know someone.

Yes, she chooses her people carefully.

But when Remy chooses you—and there are many of us who have been lucky enough to experience this—she loves with her whole heart.

She will hold you on a pedestal you didn't even know existed.

Remy wants to serve her people. Nurture them. Protect them. Be beside them. She wants to know where you are and what you're doing. She wants to be part of your world.

Remy loves deeply. And she commits even deeper.

She is capable.

And she is so, so deserving.

What Remy deserves isn't a busy home with endless people coming and going.

She deserves quiet.

She deserves someone who isn't looking for just another good dog.

She deserves someone looking for one incredible, once-in-a-lifetime kind of dog.

The kind of dog who takes a little patience to earn—but once you've earned her heart, you'll spend the rest of your life wondering how you ever lived without her.

Remy has been waiting for her person for 494 days.

And the heartbreaking part?

She's been ready for so long.

If you have the space in your home—and the patience, understanding, and heart to give Remy the kind of life she deserves, we'd love to hear from you.

Maybe you're the person she's been waiting for.

Remy is waiting. ❤️

Percy is the movie-worthy boy. 🖤🐾

You know the dog I mean.

The old farmer’s best friend. The one who follows his person through the fields all day, never needing to be asked. The one who settles onto the front porch at the end of the day, content to sit beside his person and watch the sun disappear over the fields.

Quiet, but present.

Steady. Loyal. Affectionate.

Percy is that dog.

He’s the kind of dog you see in movies—the smart, mature, old-soul kind of boy who seems to understand more than he lets on. But underneath that wisdom is still a goofy, playful dog who loves being silly, playing with the kids, and enjoying all the little things that make life good.

He’ll happily join in on the chaos and youthful energy of the kids, but when the day winds down, Percy is looking for his people. A good snuggle. A place beside you. Maybe a spot on the porch while you enjoy the evening together.

Because Percy doesn’t just want a home.

He wants his people.

He’s loyal to his core and seems to have been born for the job of being someone’s best friend.

The kind of dog who will follow you through the good days, the hard days, the busy days and the quiet ones.

And right now, Percy is patiently waiting for someone to finally be his.

We think he’s going to make someone one heck of a best friend. ❤️

If you’re interested in meeting Percy, please book an appointment with us by emailing [email protected] 🐾
