Jett's puppies -- eyes are open and they have had their first nail trim. They are starting to move about and explore. Pink is the most determined, she gets her way every time and first to break-out is Blue boy. It won't be long before they are all out and exploring!

This is what Preservation Breeders do! We pair a exceptional male with a suitable female, and we raise the puppies to fulfill their ultimate potential. When we evaluate our litters we do so with the experience of many years of watching puppies grow and develop, including the parents of the litter, their parents and grand-parents. In our case, we are evaluating our puppies in a continuous bloodline going all the way to our first litters in the 1980's. When we evaluated our litter from Henley and Cassie, born on April 16, 2026 -- this puppy was our top show/breeding and performance pick. He is "Elwood" (the Blues Brother) -- Pikkinokka's Galenuit Briefcase Full of Cash, now a Best Baby Puppy in Show winner!
Breeders: This puppy is the perfect opportunity to bring structure, temperament and pedigree to a serious Breeding Program. For more information: [email protected]

Exciting news -- puppies have hatched in the Birdhouse! While I was busy showing our dogs in Montana at the US National, Jackie House was busy whelping Toller babies from our girl "Jett". We have five boys and three girls. Mom and pups are doing great! Sire of this litter is "George".

"Bruce" Can CH Pikkinokka-Avatar Dancing in the Dark With Monarda winning Winners Dog at the 2026 US Toller National under our lovely judge, Linda Clark. Handled by breeder/owner Til Niquidet of Pikkinokka Kennels, "Bruce" is shown here with co-breeder/co-owner Stacy Marie Einck-Paul of Avatar Kennels and co-owner Malinda Scott of Monarda Kennels. We are delighted with this amazing accomplishment by a dog who is a first-generation outcross to a Wallace-Babine Little River Duck Dog. Congratulations to Barbara Blauvelt -- this win belongs to you!

With ribbons in Montana at the US Toller National and Jett's new Toller puppies arriving today, this is a message for those looking for a family dog.

Most well-bred puppies are pets. ❤️

A preservation breeder may spend years studying pedigrees, health testing, evaluating temperament, structure and breed type, and planning a litter.

They may ultimately keep one puppy to carry their breeding program forward.

But the rest?

They become someone’s hiking partner.
They grow up alongside children.
They sleep on couches and wait at the door for their people.
They become therapy dogs, hunting companions, adventure buddies—or simply very loved family dogs.

Preservation breeding isn’t only about producing the next show dog or breeding dog.

It’s also about sending healthy, predictable, thoughtfully bred puppies into wonderful pet homes—and being there for those families for the lifetime of the dog.

The puppy that is “just a pet” is never just anything. For most breeders, those homes are the heart of every litter. ❤️

🐾 If you have a dog from a preservation breeder, what has that dog become to your family?

Update: After a week on detox herbs (milk thistle and NAC), Charlie is a completely different dog. She’s calm, no more neurotic behavior, no seizures. It’s now been two weeks and it appears the damage has been reversed.

Here we go again! At least once a year, despite our verbal and written warnings (in contract), a puppy buyer is convinced by their vet that Isoxoline class pesticides (Bravecto, Nexguard, Credellio and Simparica) are “safe and effective “. Well, this time it’s a seven month old Labrador. She’s had FIVE doses of Credellio. Two seizures and generally neurotic behavior. All litter mates are great. There is such a substantial amount of toxicity in her brain that she cannot calm down. She’s on a detox protocol and is already a completely different dog. She has a ways to go now as behavior is habit but she’s calmer and listening. Hopefully, the detox will prevent further seizures. She didn’t have any until after the 4th dose (it builds up!). This isn’t a dog “predisposed” or with a “history “ of seizures. That’s the biggest lie. If an animal has a pulse, they can develop seizures if you poison them. In 20 years of breeding, the only dogs who developed seizures (that we bred) were given flea/tick pesticides (no, I will not call them “meds”). Medicine heals. There’s nothing medicinal about these pesticides. For those who listen to propaganda (the “community note added by Fb”),here’s the actual warning on the label. The FDA forced the companies to add it due to a thousands of reports/overwhelming evidence.
