LET’S TALK SAFETY 🐾
When your dog joins Rossland Canine Club, their safety is always our top priority. Here are some of the ways we keep our furry friends safe from start to finish:
🐕 Harnesses & leash safety
All dogs wear a properly fitted harness. When secured, we attach from the chest rather than the neck for comfort and safety.
All dogs are leashed before leaving the vehicle and stay leashed until we reach the off-leash area. At the end of the walk, everyone is leashed again before leaving the trail and stays leashed until safely back in the vehicle.
🚐 Safe transportation
Most dogs travel in their own individual crate, where they can relax on a towel. Dogs who aren’t crated are safely secured with their harness.
📍 GPS + ID tag, always
Every dog wears an ID tag and GPS tracker while in our care.
A big thank you to Tractive Smart Pet Tracker for helping us keep our furry friends safe and trackable!
⚠️ Trail signage
We put up a sign before each off-leash adventure to let other trail users know a group of dogs is on the trail.
A big thank you to Cutting Edge Signs for our trail safety sign!
🍪 Allergies & treats
Before a dog’s first walk, we make sure we’re aware of any allergies or food sensitivities. We do give treats during our walks, so knowing what each dog can safely enjoy is important to us.
Our two treat options contain simple ingredients, including organic oats, organic pumpkin, organic turmeric, chickpea flour, potato flour, organic coconut oil, organic parsley, organic fennel seeds and black pepper — with no animal protein.
A big thank you to Auntie Kim's Kanine Kookies for making these treats for our furry friends!
Because safety isn’t just one thing — it’s all the little things we do before, during and after every adventure. ❤️
