Floppy ears need a weekly peek. 👂🐶

Floppy-eared breeds trap moisture and warmth, which makes them prone to infections. Redness, gunk, or an off smell means it's time to call the vet. A quick weekly look catches it early.

Good news! Katy will be back to work tomorrow! The absolute angels from Dentistry at Manotick handled her medical anxiety better than Trazadone before vet visits!

Did you know dogs that eat a raw diet have cleaner mouths than those on kibble? Like in humans, carbohydrates in kibbles deposit onto teeth causing build up and sometimes cavities. Your pup's saliva helps clean up the protein remaining from raw food and potential bacteria.

Dogs definitely can benefit from a cleaning now and then, which can come in the form of natural toothbrushes (chicken feet, carrots) and some may require more work from a professional.

Remember: always take breed, genetics and age into consideration when assessing your dogs dental needs. Switching to raw can give a huge "paw up" towards a healthier mouth!

Nancy does not let her in until she pees.

Watch her Brain SWITCH. She checks in, gets the praise, then heads for the porch anyway. Food is winning. Nancy resets her to the yard. She sniffs, works the tree, and finishes the job.

Hey Pack. Sorry about this one—I’m honestly pretty embarrassed. We’re cancelling tomorrow’s 7–8 p.m. pack walk.

When I planned these walks back in April, I didn’t think about running out of daylight in September. We still work one-on-one at 7 p.m., but getting 15+ dogs and their owners together is a different story. Our group work needs to happen in clear, bright daylight. I should have caught that sooner.

We’ve doubled our pack walks through the end of the year, so we’ll be walking every Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m.
