Heya Buddies!
After a recent eye infection which included a vet visit for my boy, I just wanted to share an update with you regarding care, especially for any pups that will be in contact with other pups. While I do mostly one-on-one care, I'd rather be safe than sorry!
Please make sure prior to care that your pup is in good health, including being up-to-date on their vaccinations. This included making sure they're free from ear and eye infections (think odd coloured eye goops), they don't have a cough, and their coat is clean. I'm really thinking about things that are contagious or easily spread.
If your pup is experiencing anything out of the ordinary (especially for them), please give me a heads up. This will allow me to adjust their care to ensure they don't spread any possible germs and sickness. I'm of course still able to take them, however their care may just need to be a little different until they're back in good health.
I recently looked after a couple young puppies while my own senior pup had unknowingly had a bacterial eye infection, which he had picked up from another dog in my care. He was around a couple dogs before I realised he had something that could have been contagious. Luckily I caught it early, let everyone know, and kept him away from other pups until I was able to get him to the vet. While everything turned out fine, I would have hated to have spread something to them, especially the young one since she wouldn't have had the immune system yet!
Thank you so much for your understanding! I appreciate all the support and the trust every family places in me to care for their fur babies! ๐
