EXCITING NEWS! 🎉

I am now accepting a limited number of new clients!

Pet Tech on the Run is a locally owned and operated mobile service that I started back in January 2018 (time flies 🐾).

If we haven’t met yet, I’m a Registered Veterinary Technologist and Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner with over 10 years of veterinary experience. My passion? Helping the misunderstood pets. The dogs who are fearful of clinics and the cats who can be a little… spicy 🌶️. These are exactly the patients I started my mobile business for!

I provide in-home veterinary tech services, including (but not limited to):
✂️ Toenail trims
🍑 A**l gland expression
👂 Ear cleaning
✂️ Mat shaving & sanitary trims
🐱 Cat shaves
…and more!

⚠️ Please note: I am not a groomer and do not provide full grooming services.

At this time, I have limited availability for weekday daytime appointments only (no evenings or weekends).

👉 Send me a message to book your spot or learn more, spaces are limited!

Did you know nail trimming isn’t as simple as it seems?

A proper nail trim involves more than just cutting the nails—here are my top three key factors:

1️⃣ Length – The Most Important Factor!
The goal isn’t just to trim the tips—it’s to get the nails as short as possible without hitting the quick.
🔹 Cutting only the tips allows the quick to keep growing, making future trims harder.
🔹 Trimming close to the quick encourages it to recede, keeping nails shorter and healthier over time.

2️⃣ Frequency – It’s Not One-Size-Fits-All!
🚶‍♂️ Walking on pavement doesn’t always replace regular trims! While some dogs naturally wear down their nails, most don’t.
🐕 Nail wear depends on factors like breed, weight, gait, and posture.
📆 The ideal trim schedule should be tailored to your dog’s individual needs.

3️⃣ Consistency – The Hardest, But Most Beneficial!
Starting nail trims early and staying consistent makes all the difference!
✅ Regular trims throughout life help keep quicks short and nails manageable.
✅ Overgrown nails lead to slipping, poor traction, and mobility issues, especially in senior dogs.
💡 Keeping nails short before arthritis and weakness set in helps prevent future pain and discomfort.

Not sure where to start? I can help! Contact me for stress-free nail trims. 🐾✂️

⏳I decided to time myself during a nail trim and put it into a time-lapse—because who doesn’t love to see the process? 🐾

This trim took me less than TWO MINUTES.

Nail trims don’t have to be stressful or take forever! Blue, in this video, isn’t the biggest fan of nail trims, but the quicker and more efficient the process, the less time she spends uncomfortable.

With over 10 years of experience, I’ve refined my technique so that trims take under 5 minutes—while still being thorough, precise, and as fear free as possible.

🔹 Why does expertise matter?
A proper nail trim isn’t just about snipping the tips. The goal is to get nails as short as the dog tolerates while rounding off edges to prevent snagging. Trimming too conservatively allows the quick to grow out, leading to chronically long nails, discomfort, and strain on joints.

🐾 Of course, not every dog is the same. Dogs with anxiety or reactivity may need more time, and some may not tolerate rounding at all—that’s okay! Consistency is key in teaching your dog that nail trims aren’t scary. Just like you regularly trim your own nails, pets need the same routine care.

📆 How often should nails be trimmed?
✔️ Every 4-6 weeks at a minimum
✔️ Every 2 weeks for dogs with arthritis, orthopedic concerns or overgrown quicks
✔️ If you can hear your dog’s nails on the floor, they’re too long!

A good trim = healthier paws, happier dogs. 🐕💙

Need a stress-free nail trim for your pup? I come to you! 🚐🐾
