Our team has been in Richmond this weekend attending a conference focused on the latest research, techniques, and developments in veterinary rehabilitation.

Continuing education is an important part of what we do. Staying current with the evidence and learning from other professionals in the field helps us continue to provide thoughtful, effective, and high-quality care for our patients.

We’ll be travelling home tomorrow and will be back in the clinic on Tuesday, September 15th!

Dr. Mann and her family welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Cleo, on May 6th, 2026.

Cleo is healthy, happy, and already stealing hearts with her full head of hair and bright light eyes. Mom and baby are both doing wonderfully as they settle into this exciting new chapter together.

✨ Meet the Newest Member of Our Team! ✨

Many of you may have noticed a new face around the clinic, and we are excited to officially introduce her!

Please join us in welcoming Samantha, our new full-time Hydrotherapist and Rehabilitation Assistant. 🐾

Sam worked in several local Prince George veterinary clinics from 2018 to 2024 before moving to Prince Rupert, where she joined the BC SPCA as an Animal Care Specialist and Supervisor. She is Fear Free certified and brings extensive hands-on experience working with a wide range of canine and feline behaviours.

Now back in Prince George, Sam is excited to begin her journey in canine rehabilitation, and we are thrilled to have her as part of our team. We are confident that her experience and passion will be a wonderful addition to our clinic!

These are the last spots available before Dr. Mann begins her maternity leave.

If you have been thinking about getting your dog or cat assessed for pain, mobility changes, post-surgical recovery, arthritis support, or performance optimization, this is your sign. 🐾

Once these final spots are filled, all new clients will be placed on a waitlist until Dr. Mann returns.

Rehabilitation is most effective when started early. Subtle stiffness, slower rising, hesitation on stairs, or decreased endurance are often the first signs that your pet could benefit from support. Addressing concerns early can help prevent further compensation and discomfort down the road.

If you have been on the fence, we would truly love to help your pet before this temporary pause in new intakes.

Yes, we’re still here 👋

We know we’ve been a little quieter on social media lately, so we wanted to pop in with an update!

Behind the scenes, it has been very busy as we prepare for Dr. Mann’s upcoming maternity leave. A lot of thoughtful planning has been happening to ensure all of our current patients continue to receive seamless, high-quality rehabilitation care while she is away.

At the same time, we have been working hard to consult with as many new patients as possible before her leave so we can support as many pets as we can.

We also have some exciting things in the works that require a bit of extra planning from our management and social media team. That includes onboarding new team members. You will soon be seeing some fresh faces around the clinic, and we truly cannot wait to officially introduce them to you. We are so grateful to be growing our team with passionate professionals who share our commitment to compassionate, evidence-based rehab care.

Stretch & Fetch Rehab is hiring, and we’re looking for a rock-star to join our team as our next Rehabilitation Assistant / Hydrotherapist.

While experience in rehabilitation or hydrotherapy is an asset, we are absolutely willing to fully train the right person. We care far more about attitude, work ethic, and heart than a perfect resume.

You’ll be running underwater treadmill sessions, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, assisting practitioners, managing patient intake/discharge, keeping our schedule on time, performing and delegating clinic cleaning, scheduling appointments and handling client communication.

This is a hands-on, extremely fast-paced role. The ideal candidate should be confident, proactive and able to take initiative. They should be able to work independently and as a team.

We are not just hiring for a position. We are investing in someone who wants to grow with us and are looking for someone who wants a long-term career in the amazing field of rehabilitation.

🌟 February Patient of the Month: Scooby! 🐾

Scooby first came to Stretch & Fetch in October 2025 after a suspected Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) episode.

When we first met him, he was paralyzed in his hind limbs and relied on his front legs to drag himself around. While he still had deep pain sensation, he had no conscious proprioception and his reflexes were very weak.

Surgery is often considered the gold standard treatment for IVDD cases this severe. Like many families facing difficult decisions, this was not a feasible option for Scooby’s guardian. Instead, they committed to conservative management through intensive rehabilitation and hydrotherapy. Scooby began treatment twice weekly, focusing on neurological retraining, strength building, and improving mobility.

Through dedication, consistency, and a lot of hard work from his family, Scooby has made incredible progress. He is now able to walk again! While he still has ataxia in his hind limbs, the transformation from dragging himself to walking independently has been truly amazing to watch. 💛

Dogs managed conservatively for IVDD do carry a higher risk of reinjury, which makes long term maintenance rehabilitation very important. Scooby continues to work on strength, proprioception, and regular medical check-ins to help keep him comfortable and mobile.
