⚠️🐾 KENNEL COUGH AWARENESS 🐾⚠️

I wanted to make everyone aware that I now have two confirmed client dogs with kennel cough.

Since we regularly adventure through Scouts Valley, and it is a popular area for many dogs and their owners, I feel it’s important to let everyone know so you can keep an extra close eye on your pups.

Kennel cough is highly contagious and can spread through the air, direct contact between dogs, and shared environments.

Please watch for symptoms such as:
🐾 A dry, harsh or “honking” cough
🐾 Gagging or retching
🐾 Runny nose
🐾 Mild lethargy
🐾 Decreased appetite

If your dog develops any symptoms or is diagnosed with kennel cough, please let me know before their next scheduled service so we can help prevent further spread.

I’ll also be taking extra precautions on my end to help keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible. ❤️

This isn’t meant to cause alarm — I simply want everyone to be informed, especially with how many dogs enjoy Scouts Valley.

Nubbs&Tails has officially updated our logo, and I couldn’t be more in love with how it turned out! 🥹

The mountains, the sunset, the trees, and of course, the dog and cat sitting side by side. It’s everything I wanted our little business to represent. Adventure, companionship, and the love we have for the animals who become part of our lives.

After 8 years of Nubbs&Tails, one thing has never changed: the love I have for what I do and every single animal that comes into my care.

This logo feels like US, and I think it’s absolutely perfect. 💜

🍂🐾 Happy First Day of Fall from Nubbs&Tails! 🐾🍂

The season of crunchy leaves, crisp morning walks, cozy sweaters and muddy paws is officially here! And I couldn’t be more excited! 🧡

There’s just something about fall adventures with our furry friends. Watching them explore all the new smells, kick up the leaves and enjoy the cooler weather makes this one of my favourite times of year.

And of course, we’re getting closer to spooky season! 🎃👻

Here’s to pumpkin everything, wagging tails, happy whiskers and making more memories with the four-legged family members who make our days a little brighter.

I’m going to say something today because this really bothered me.

Being a dog owner means taking responsibility for your dog in ALL moments — not just the easy ones. Not just when they’re behaving perfectly. Not just when everything goes right.

Today, a friend of mine had her dog AND her older child hurt by another dog. Her dog was left with a puncture wound on its tail, and her daughter was left with scratches on her arms.

The other owner got their dog under control, said sorry… and left.

That is NOT how you handle something like this.

Listen, accidents can happen. Dogs are animals. Things can escalate quickly, even with dogs we love and trust. But what happens AFTERWARD is where your responsibility as an owner comes in.

You stay.

You make sure the people and animals involved are okay. You exchange information. You check in. You take responsibility for what your dog did, and if veterinary or medical care is needed because of the incident, you don’t disappear and pretend it isn’t your problem.

Saying “sorry” and walking away isn’t taking responsibility.

Owning a dog means owning the difficult moments too.

And this isn’t about saying a dog is “bad” because something happened. It’s about the HUMAN being accountable for the animal they chose to bring into the world and into public spaces.

I work with dogs every single day, including reactive dogs, and one thing I will always stand behind is RESPONSIBLE OWNERSHIP.

Know your dog. Know their limits. Advocate for them. Take precautions. And if something does go wrong, stay and make it right.

Our dogs depend on us to make good choices for them — especially when things don’t go according to plan. 🐾💜
