Most people think the answer to reactivity is more socialization.
In reality, many dogs don’t need more interaction.
They need to learn how to stay calm without feeling the need to engage.
That’s what this exercise is building.
Notice the goal isn’t for the dog to play with the others or say hello. It’s to relax while life happens around them. That’s the foundation of a dog you can take anywhere with confidence.
Calm isn’t about avoiding distractions.
It’s about teaching your dog they don’t have to respond to every one.
