Pawz Thérapie week summary: Introduced Riley, a Westie, to Pet Therapy, and he performed exceptionally well during visits to two group homes. Spent the day at Prevost campus. With over twenty years of experience as an Educator at Batshaw, I am consistently impressed by the remarkable resilience of our clients, who have overcome unimaginable hardships yet remain grateful for their circumstances and strive to achieve their goals. One client, in particular, exhibits exceptional artistic talent. I wish I could share their faces but I must respect their confidentiality.

These lovely twins came into my session and stood behind a couch to shield them from sweet Chewie. I have never seen anyone so petrified of dogs. By the end of the session..slowly and with gentle encouragement they over came their fear and pet Chewie!! Everyone was in awe! Pet Therapy is not just about petting a dog! Personalized programs cater to the needs to every client we work with. I'm grateful for the opportunity to work at the L'annexe, Ometz's Day Center.

A particularly poignant moment during a Pet Therapy session occurs when a client who is extremely fearful of dogs ultimately overcomes their fear and pets the dog. These twins, with visibly shaking hands, cautiously pet Chewie. The participants praised their bravery. We greatly appreciated our visit to L'Annexe, Omitz Day Center.

Over the past year, I have been searching for a generous supplier of stuffed animals to bring joy to my clients participating in Pet Therapy, children who have endured unimaginable trauma and heartache. Fortunately, I shared my quest with a compassionate friend, Brenda,who introduced me to a kind-hearted individual, Peter, connected me with another angel who delivered extraordinary news: Starlight Canada, donated 200 precious doggie stuffies! I am deeply moved and eager to shower these precious gifts on these little ones, knowing the teens will also treasure them. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. This is truly what Xmas means to me.

Pawz Thérapie celebrating 9 years today!! What better way to celebrate than to spend quality time with our precious clients who are all so motivated to learn how to read to Chewie!! They even drew photos of him. These clients all have so many challenges while living away from their parents and families (🥲) yet they smile and shower Chewie with some much love. 💕
I'm grateful for my pack of dogs that I've had; Chewie (ambassador!) , Chico (the original), Leo (loves everyone!) Parker (the soother) Coco & Penny (kids fav' lap dogs), Dahlia (RIP angrel)
I would like to thank the Batshaw Youth & Family Foundation, LBPSB & EMSB plus Bessie Tsatoumas who gave me my first contract at Phoenix Alternative, Sam B., who made my dream to work at Batshaw as a PetvTherapist come
