6:45am and already getting showered by kisses from Bella

I wanted to share an experience we recently had with Hazel at the vet.
Yes, the vet was doing her job, and I completely understand that. But at the same time, I left feeling like I was questioning my abilities as a pet parent—and honestly, that really stayed with me.
We love our pets the way we love our children. They are our babies, our family, and we know them better than anyone else.
Trust your instincts. You know your pet, their personality, their habits, and when something just isn’t right. Don’t let anyone make you second-guess yourself or feel like you’re not doing enough for your fur babies.
We all want the same thing: to love them, protect them, and give them the best life possible. ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I swear, Cockapoos must be one of the happiest and most energetic crossbreed ever! I honestly don’t know where Lady gets all her strength from but it’s definitely no match for me 😂 And that tail goes a mile a minute—it never seems to stop wagging!

Hi HHaven Family,

Come sit with us for a little while, in Hazel’s favourite spot — right behind the front door.
Grab yourself a coffee and get comfortable, because this might be a long post. ☕️
I’ve been wanting to share an update about Hazel since many of you have been asking. There’s been a lot going on, and I thought it was time to check in, share where things are at, and simply connect with all of you.
Thank you for being here, for caring, and for following along with us. It truly means a lot 🫶🏻

We learn something new every day with our Hazelnut. 🤎
I never thought we would find ourselves needing to take Hazel’s blood pressure, but here we are. When you love them as much as we love our girl, you do whatever is needed to keep them happy, comfortable, and healthy.
A huge thank you to Animex ambulance animale for offering veterinary services in the comfort of your own home — from blood pressure checks and bloodwork to injections and so much more.
I have honestly never seen Hazel so relaxed during a veterinary visit. The vet tech was absolutely amazing. She took her time, never rushed her, and was so patient, gentle, and caring with Hazel. You could see how comfortable Hazel felt with her, and that meant the world to us.

If you ever need at-home care for your pets, I highly recommend Animex. The convenience, compassion, patience, and quality of care were absolutely wonderful.

Make sure to go give them a follow!!

INTRODUCING OUR NEW SERIES: Caring for Our Senior Dogs

If you’re caring for a senior dog — whether they’re experiencing dementia or simply entering their golden years — you know how much can change.
One day they seem like themselves… and the next, they may be slowing down, sleeping differently, needing more comfort, or requiring a little extra help getting through the day.
And sometimes, you find yourself wondering:
“Am I doing enough?”

This series is for you!
We’re going to talk about the things that don’t always get talked about — nighttime restlessness, creating a comforting environment, leaving something with your scent, recognizing signs that could be pain, knowing when it might be time to talk to your vet about medication, and the little things we can do to help our senior dogs feel safe, comfortable, and loved.
There won’t be perfect answers.
Every dog is different. Every aging journey is different.
But there are little things we can do to make their world a little easier.
And if you’re in the middle of this journey right now, I want you to know something:
You’re doing a good job. 🤍
You’re learning.
You’re adapting.
You’re showing up.
And your dog is lucky to have you.
Follow along as we navigate the beautiful, sometimes difficult journey of caring for our senior dogs together.
