Though I’ve lost both of my shadow guides, I am not alone walking through the dark.
She’s been with us for about a month now, settling in and helping us pick up the broken pieces. I’m so pleased to introduce Hecate, our Moonlight guide.
This poor girl had a rough start and struggled at first to feel at home, but she’s slowly beginning to understand that this is forever. There’s still plenty of training ahead before Expo visits and big outings where we can show her off, but this goofy girl is already such a wonderful addition to our family.
I’m so excited to watch her experience the world for the first time and to introduce her to all of Mira’s favorite things.
My heart is still broken, but it is also full. All the love I carry for Mira and Widow now pours into Hecate, someone who didn’t receive much of it in her short life.
Our family may look a little different now, but the future is bright. I can’t wait for you all to meet her. ❤️

With a broken heart I share the very unexpected and sudden passing of my best friend.

Mira,

I made a promise to you and myself that I would never let you suffer. Keeping that promise was one of the hardest things I had to do. You brought so much joy and light to my life when I was stuck in the dark. My shadow, my everything, I miss looking over and seeing your goofy face look back at mine.

I created my business because of you, picked myself back up off the ground and did all the trauma work because of my companion. You were there through all the ups and downs, every house move, every win and loss we made it through together. Kissing your little face and cuddling on the couch was what I looked forward to everyday.

We met so many people that loved and spoiled you. You ate all the snacks, was silly with your friends and showed me how to find joy in the little things.

I can’t believe this is real life, that I have to go on without you. The house already doesn’t feel the same and it’s only been a day. My love for you will go on in helping all the dogs that come next. Because of you so many dogs will have a safe space here with Jude and I.

No one will ever replace you, I love you more than anything. Wait for me at the bridge, I’m coming right for you.

Run free my pupper, I love you.

Life has been nuts lately, between my health, Mira’s development of seizures and moving, I haven’t had a lot of time to update social media. Thankfully the neurologist isn’t concerned about Mira and she’s stable on the current meds until it progresses.

Grateful for all the puppy snuggles I get from my clients and for the love and support of the community while I navigate my dog’s health, she’s very much loved. 🥰
