[INBOX] Prospective Buyer Inquiry vs. Reality
Buyer: "Hi! I'm looking to buy a puppy from a reputable breeder. I need a tricolor female with a well defined black saddle and a white neck to arrive by next Thursday. Do you have one available?"
Misbehavin': "Hello! Absolutely, let me just turn on the 3D printer right now. I’ll program the exact color pattern, set the gender to female, and press 'Print.' It should be ready to roll off the assembly line by Tuesday!"
In all seriousness... we love that people are choosing to seek out reputable breeders, but a gentle reminder on how biology actually works:
Female Wire Fox Terriers typically come into season only once every 7-12 months. We don't control the schedule; Mother Nature does.
Once a successful mating occurs, pregnancy takes 2 full months (around 63 days).
After birth, puppies spend another 9-10 weeks developing, socializing, and growing with their mother and littermates before they are ready to join a new home.
From the initial planning stages to the day a puppy walks out the door, the process takes many months—sometimes even a year or more of waiting.
Reputable breeding isn't an inventory warehouse, and puppies aren't manufactured on demand. Ethical breeding takes time, patience, careful health testing, and deliberate planning.
If you are looking for a well-bred, healthy Wire Fox Terrier, the best time to reach out is well before you expect to bring a puppy home. Getting on a waitlist is part of the journey!
