🎉 ONE YEAR OF ALTITUDE CANINE ADVENTURES! 🐾

Okay… so I’m 2 days late. 😂
September 22, 2025 was officially the day I opened the doors to Altitude Canine Adventures — and somehow, a whole year has already gone by!

What a year it has been. 🖤

When I started this business, I had no idea what this first year would look like. There have been exciting days, challenging days, unexpected turns, and so many moments that reminded me exactly why I love doing what I do.

I’ve had the absolute privilege of spending my days exploring the mountains and trails with some pretty incredible dogs. I’ve watched nervous dogs grow in confidence, energetic dogs burn off some serious energy, and friendships form along the way — both two-legged and four-legged.

This first year also brought an unexpected and incredibly difficult hurdle when my husband was diagnosed with cancer. It was a challenging time personally and professionally, and I’m so grateful to the people who stayed, stuck with me, and supported me through it. To those who checked in, helped me, showed understanding, and continued to believe in me and my little business — thank you. Your kindness meant more than you know.

And to every client who has trusted me with their dogs, welcomed me back into their lives, supported my little business, shared my posts, recommended me to a friend, or simply cheered me on…

You have helped make this first year something I’m incredibly proud of.

Altitude Canine Adventures is more than just a dog walking business to me. It’s a chance to spend my days outside, surrounded by dogs, doing something I genuinely love — and I’m so grateful I get to call this work.

Here’s to the first year… and to many more adventures ahead! 🐾

If you've been around the local dog community for a while, you may know that Altitude Canine Adventures isn't my first dog-walking business.

Before Altitude, I had a very successful dog-walking business that kept me incredibly busy and allowed me to do what I love every day—spend time with dogs and explore the outdoors with them.

A change in circumstances forced me to step away from the dog community for two years. When I was finally able to start again, I came back expecting things to look a lot like they had before.

But while I was away, things changed.

Two wonderful dog walkers had established themselves in our area, offering some great services to local dogs and their families. And while I'm genuinely happy that our community has more great options for dog owners, it also meant that Altitude Canine Adventures wasn't nearly as busy as my previous business had been.

So rather than trying to compete by simply doing more of the same, I decided to pivot.

I started asking myself:

“What can I offer that is different?”

And that's where PRIVATE ADVENTURES came in!

One of the unique things I have access to is a large, private, securely fenced outdoor space where I can give a dog the opportunity to run, sniff, explore and just be a dog without the unpredictability of a public off-leash area.

Private Adventures are especially suited to dogs who:

🐾 Don't have a 100% reliable recall yet
🐾 Are reactive toward other dogs
🐾 Become overwhelmed in busy environments
🐾 Need a quieter, more private place to exercise
🐾 Aren't quite comfortable in a traditional group adventure

One dog at a time means your dog can enjoy their adventure without unexpected encounters with unfamiliar dogs or people. (Dogs from the same household are welcome to come together at no extra charge).

And honestly, I think this is such a cool option for dogs who sometimes get left out of the fun because their needs are a little different. As an owner of a reactive dog myself, I realize how important it is for them to have these experiences too!

They don't have to be a “perfect” dog to have an adventure.

They just need an adventure that's right for them.

My regular group adventures aren't going anywhere. But I want to continue finding ways to make Altitude Canine Adventures unique and offer something that isn't available from every dog walker.

Sometimes you don't need to start over. You just need to find a new path.
