Had to get out and try another one...Lessons learned and applied!
Super happy with how this little 152mm Japanese Bunka turned out. Steel came from a recycled table saw blade, handle is solid walnut and zebrano again. Also tried a little acid etching on the blade to help with corrosion resistance.

Finally got a chance to do something I've wanted to try for a long time. Making my own knife. My take on a Japanese Kiritsuke knife, finished with a zebrano and walnut handle.

The Kiritsuke knife is traditionally exclusively reserved for the executive chef in Japanese restaurants.

Lots of mistakes made, and lots more to learn, especially with finishing the steel. I already can't wait to try another one!

The perfect fathers day gift for a foodie. This is one of my favourite boards to date, purple heart, padauk, and roasted ash. I added a chamfer around all sides on both faces and really loved the way it turned out!
Things have been pretty hectic lately, I'm in the middle of moving houses so my workshop is currently disbanded and hoping to be back up and running in the next few weeks! Non-time sensitive orders are on hold at the moment until I get settled in fully, I'll be sure to be in touch with anyone who has an order in as soon as I get set back up!

Really loved the way this coat hanger turned out! A subtle mix of padauk, maple and purple heart with a small chamfer around the back edge to give some depth from the wall. Can't wait to see this hung up on the wall!

I was commissioned to make a New York Yankees piece as a birthday gift for a die hard baseball fan. Sticking with a baseball theme I was inspired by old Louisville slugger oak baseball bats with the logo burned in. I think It turned out wicked and definitely has a rustic old feel to it! Like something you'd find hung up in the Yankees locker room a century ago.
Piece came finished with polyurethane and keyhole mounts on the rear for easy mounting.

Edge grain is quickly becoming my favourite style cutting board to make. This one was sent on its way today as a birthday present. Consisting of maple, walnut, jabota and zebrano, she shines beautiful and is built to last! With proper care and maintenance these boards could almost be considered an heirloom piece, at around 1.25 inches thick, the waterproof glue has a much larger surface area then the standard 0.75 inches thick. While both should last a long time, the almost double surface area ensures these will stand the test of time.
As I continue to clear up my workload I'm hoping to begin keeping certain style boards in stock throughout the rest of the year! So look out for those in the near future.
As usual. Finished with a homemade mixture of mineral oil and pure beeswax. Wax provided by

One of my favourites yet. A 1.5 inch thick myriad of exotic hardwoods. Maple, walnut, jabota, purple heart and zebrano. A heavy chamfer was added to the bottom face along with 4 rubber feet to keep the heavy board stable and free of slippage.
This board presented a few challenges but it was well worthwhile in the end!
