🐾 2027 APPOINTMENTS — Friendly Reminder! 🐾

To all of my wonderful regular clients who would like to keep their pup’s spot reserved for 2027 — now is the time to reach out! ❤️

I’m slowly working my way through my 2027 bookings, and I’d love to make sure my regular clients have the opportunity to keep their preferred grooming schedule.

📅 How to pre-book:
Send me a text with either:
• A few dates that work best for you, or
• Let me know how often you’d like your pup booked (every 4–8 weeks).
Once I receive your request, I’ll work through the schedule over the next few weeks and touch base with you to let you know what dates are available.

⏰ Please keep in mind: Appointment times may vary throughout the year, but I will always send a text reminder the night before with your appointment details.

🐶 Not currently a regular client or don't have a 2027 appointment booked?

My regular clients will receive priority when filling the 2027 schedule. If there are short-notice cancellations, I may reach out to those on my cancellation list when availability comes up.
For most regularly groomed dogs, I recommend staying on a 4–8 week schedule. Short-haired breeds may be able to go closer to 3 months, depending on their individual grooming needs.

Thank you so much to all of my amazing clients & I look forward to seeing you in the new year! ❤️🐾

A Little Update 💕🐾

I wanted to give everyone a quick heads-up that starting ASAP, grooming prices will be adjusted slightly. As always, pricing may vary depending on the individual dog, coat condition, size, behaviour, and the time required to safely achieve the desired groom.

New starting prices🐾

🐾Small dogs — starting at $85
🐾 Medium Doodles — starting at $120
🐾 Large–XL Doodles — $140–$175

Some additional services/fees include:

• A**l gland expression — $40 separately / $25 with a groom
•Nail Trim -- $25
• Colour — starting at $15, depending on size, coverage and amount of product used.
• Seniors — additional time and care may be required. Senior dogs often need more frequent breaks and a slower, gentler approach to keep them comfortable and safe.
• Behavioural challenges — additional charges may apply when a second set of hands is needed for safe handling or distraction. These appointments may also need to be scheduled around availability.
• Coat condition — excessive matting can be very hard on both the dog and my equipment. Clipper blades are not cheap, and severely matted coats can cause discomfort and stress for the dog.
• Extended grooming time — a normal appointment is generally 2 hours or less per dog. If significantly more time is required, an additional fee may apply.

Every dog is different, and my priority is always to take the time needed to provide a safe, comfortable and beautiful groom rather than rushing through an appointment ❤️

These adjustments help cover the increasing cost of products, equipment, maintenance and, most importantly, the time and care that goes into each groom.

Thank you all so much for your continued support and understanding. I truly appreciate every one of my clients and the trust you place in me with your fur babies! 🐶💕

** PSA: Foxtails **

We have seen these types of grass around in the past but they are more plentiful this year and are harmful to animals. They can grow in yards, parks and side of trails. The grass has tiny reverse barbs so they can get into an animals' paws, mouth, ears and attach to their haircoats. If they are not removed, they can migrate through the body to cause problems weeks to months later. Foxtail seeds can lead to serious infection once inside the animals' body because they don't break down.

Typical symptoms would be:
* Signs of distress like limping or trouble breathing
* Swelling or redness
* Constant licking or scratching themselves
* Shaking head or tilting it to one side
* Discharge around the eyes or nose
* Wounds or abscesses

If your animal is showing any of these signs, we recommend calling the clinic or our emergency line during after hours.

These foxtails have been seen quite a bit around our local dog park so please supervise your dogs when enjoying the dog park or in areas where there are foxtails.

It's that time of year again🌸

Please be cautious of this dangerous grass🚫

Foxtail season is here, and it's something every dog owner in Labrador City should be aware of.

These grass seed heads can be found along many local trails and open areas. While they may look harmless, foxtails can become a serious hazard if they get stuck in your dog's paws, ears, nose, eyes, or even under the skin. Unlike ordinary grass seeds, they can travel deeper into the body and may require veterinary treatment.

After every walk:
• Check your dog's paws
• Look inside the ears.
• Check around the eyes, nose, and coat.
• Brush out any seeds before they have a chance to work their way into the skin.

If your dog suddenly starts limping, excessively licking a paw, shaking their head, sneezing repeatedly, or squinting after a walk, don't ignore it—these can be signs of a foxtail injury, and you should ask your veterinary clinic for help.

Stay safe and enjoy the trails! 🐶🌲
