We support the important work of and invite you to donate. We are located on an incredible 50 acres of green fields, rolling hills, and wooded areas in King City Ontario, just a short drive from downtown Toronto. Our picturesque location is the perfect safe haven for lost, abused and neglected animals to heal and be rehabilitated while they wait for loving forever homes.

Mini has reviewed the back-to-school situation and would like to formally request an extension on summer.

Judging by that face, she’s not exactly thrilled about trading lazy summer days for time at the desk. We can’t really blame her.

We’re guessing there are a few kids out there feeling the same way right about now. How’s back-to-school going over at your house? Are they excited to get back, or would they happily sign Mini’s petition to keep summer going?

💔 URGENT: These Pets Need New Homes 💔

The Community Pet Rehome by Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary was created to help families who can no longer keep their pets find them safe, loving new homes.

The dogs you see here are not at a shelter. They’re still with their current owners, who are doing their best to rehome them responsibly.

This is a courtesy page that we have created to help the families. Dog Tales is not liable or responsible for the pets posted.

A Letter to My Future Home 🐾❤️

Dear Future Family,

I don’t know your names yet. I don’t know what your home looks like, where my bed will be, or who I’ll curl up beside at the end of the day.

But I’ve been waiting for you.

I’ve been waiting all summer, hoping that maybe my turn would come. And now, with summer ending, the school year almost here, and everyone settling back into their normal routines, I’m wondering…

Could this finally be the right time for you to find me?

I would love to meet you this coming Sunday from 12-4 at the Dog Tales Open House.

It’s been a long, lonely, and difficult wait for me.

I love the staff who care for me. I love the volunteers who spend time with me and remind me that I matter. But as grateful as I am for every bit of love they give me, a kennel is not a home.

The stress of shelter life is hard. The days can feel very long when you’re watching other dogs leave with their families and wondering when someone will finally choose you.

More than anything, I want to belong to someone.

I want a home where I can finally exhale. A family to love. A place where I know that when I close my eyes at night, I’ll wake up in the same safe place with the same people who chose me.

I’ve been waiting all summer.

Maybe I’ve been waiting for you.

Buddy’s journey continues. ❤️

While we’re grateful for the progress Buddy has made, there is still a lot ahead for him medically. He continues to need care, monitoring, and support to help him get stronger.

There have been good days, difficult days, and plenty of uncertainty, but Buddy keeps showing us just how strong he is.

Thank you for following his journey, keeping him in your thoughts, and supporting him through every step.

We will continue to be here for Buddy and provide him with the care he needs. But more than anything, Buddy is looking for a place to call home — an adopter or foster who can give him the love, comfort, and security he deserves.

The last thing we want is for Buddy to spend the rest of his life in the shelter.

You can help Buddy by sharing his story and helping us reach the person who may be able to open their home to him. Every share can make a difference.

Meet Buddy.

He arrived in really rough shape; with a fever, a large tumor, back pain, severe dental disease, a heart murmur, ear infection, and serious eye problems that have left him blind.

We’re taking things one step at a time. For now, we’re focusing on his eyes, ears, and pain management before he sees specialists to determine the best plan for his care.

Buddy has a long road ahead, and we need your help. Please consider donating toward his medical care and give this sweet boy the chance he deserves. ❤️
