Let's be real - there are a million webinars, courses and reels out there that tell you:
“Here's how to train your rescue dog.”
This is not that kind of webinar.
This webinar will be all about fear, reactivity, separation-related behaviour, social behaviour, confidence, exploration, relationship and regulation but training won't be a part of the conversation.
🤷♀️Why?
Because I've been in this industry for 17 years and time and time again, I talk to clients who become obsessed with fixing their rescue dog without acknowledging their complex story and needs.
I get it.
That was me 5 years ago when I adopted a dog named Hemi.
I just wanted to help him.
I just wanted him to be relaxed and happy.
So I spent over a year trying to fix him.
Only to lose him to severe arthritis one year later.
I spent many nights after losing him wishing I had let go of the need to fix him.
Because I realized:
Confidence does not come from being able to do a lot of behaviours on command.
On the outside, a dog can look very confident doing obedience behaviours or playing a game of Look at That or Engage/Disengage.
But all of these things give HUMANS control - not the other way around.
Confidence comes from knowing, no matter what, you will be safe and supported.
Confidence comes from the ability to make choices and see those through to the end.
It does not come from an arbitrary place command or a rock-solid down.
So let me tell you my story.
So you don't make the same mistakes I did.
After this webinar, you'll walk away knowing how to:
→ Recognize your dog's unique attachment style and what it may be telling you (Clingy, Disembodied, Anxious)
→ Tell the difference between a dog who is simply residing in your home and a dog who truly feels at home
→ Become the Secure Attachment Base your dog can rely on, no matter what
→ Use our unique Satiation Protocols to address feelings of scarcity and uncertainty
→ Support healthy independence without pushing your dog too far
→ Respond to bids for connection in ways that strengthen trust
→ Recognize the subtle signs that your rescue dog is finally beginning to “unpack his bags”
→ Track emotional progress without relying on arbitrary adjustment timelines (ie., 3-3-3 rules)
→ Give yourself the grace of navigating the emotions that come with bringing a being into your home with a story you may or may not know (Spoiler Alert: You deserve just as much grace as them!)
