Meet Tito! ✨

Tito has had a difficult start to life, but he hasn’t let it slow him down one bit. After being hit by a car, Tito lost a leg and part of his tail. This resilient boy is full of curiosity, confidence, and adventure, and he loves exploring every corner of his surroundings. He can often be found “helping” by checking the counters and floors for any snacks he can sniff out.

Despite his adventurous side, Tito is also incredibly affectionate. When he’s finished investigating, he loves cheek rubs, cuddling with his people, and soaking up plenty of attention. Tito would prefer to be the only cat in his home, as he enjoys having all of his person’s attention to himself.

Tito must remain indoors for his safety. He would enjoy safe outdoor enrichment, such as harness walks or time in a secure catio, where he can satisfy his adventurous spirit without the risks of roaming outdoors.

Meet Mama Spice! 🌶️

Mama Spice is a senior girl who came to us with a feral background and is still learning what it means to trust people. She has come a long way, but she continues to need patience, understanding, and the freedom to approach new experiences at her own pace.

Mama Spice is now spending some time in foster care to give her a break from the shelter environment and the opportunity to settle into a quieter space. We’re hopeful that having a calm, consistent environment will help her feel more comfortable and allow more of her personality to come out. She is still learning to trust, so her foster home is giving her the time and space she needs without any pressure.

Mama Spice will need a quiet home without children, along with an experienced owner who understands that building a relationship with her won’t happen overnight. Slow introductions and a predictable routine will be important as she continues to gain confidence and discover that she is safe.

Meet Crüe! 🤘

Crüe is a beautiful black cat who is still learning that humans can be trusted. She came to us very unsure of people, but while raising her two kittens, Hex and Nox, she let her guard down and showed us a softer side of herself. Both of her babies have since found their forever homes, and Crüe is now waiting for her own fresh start.

Since returning to the shelter, Crüe has become quite timid and scared again. She isn’t the type of cat who will immediately seek out attention or cuddles. Instead, she needs time, patience, and someone who is willing to let her build trust at her own pace.

Crüe would do best in a quiet, calm home with a patient owner who understands that her confidence may take time to grow. A peaceful environment outside of the shelter could give Crüe the opportunity to truly come out of her shell.

Meet Noble! 🐈‍⬛

Noble is a sweet, affectionate, and curious boy who loves getting attention, especially a good head rub! He enjoys keeping an eye on what’s happening around him and spending time with the people he feels comfortable with. Once he trusts you, his affectionate side really begins to shine.

Noble came to us as a feral stray and has made wonderful progress learning to trust people and enjoy affection. He can still be unsure when faced with new experiences or changes, so he’ll need extra time and patience as he adjusts to life in a home. A quiet space of his own where he can retreat and feel safe will be important while he settles in.

With a calm environment, consistency, and someone willing to let him set the pace, Noble can continue building his confidence. He has already come such a long way and is showing us more of his sweet personality every day.

Meet River! 🌻

River is a sweet and chatty girl with a curious personality and plenty to say! She loves taking in her surroundings, investigating what’s happening around her, and making sure her humans know exactly what she thinks. Her curious nature keeps her interested in everything going on around her, and she enjoys being part of the action.

River has a history of pancreatitis and requires some special dietary care to help keep her healthy and feeling her best. She needs to remain on a veterinary low-fat gastrointestinal diet, and her future family will need to be committed to continuing her diet and working with their veterinarian to support her ongoing health.

Despite her dietary needs, River is a happy, sweet girl with lots of personality. Her combination of curiosity, affection, and constant commentary makes her a fun companion who will happily keep her people informed about everything happening around her.

We are incredibly grateful for the generous donation from the estate of Gus Hollingsworth ❤️

Gus was a longtime supporter of the Kenora Cat Shelter, helping Celynn Alcock 25 years ago when she first began the shelter. From searching for kittens and picking up stray cats to donating food and money, Gus was always there to help in so many ways. He continued supporting the shelter throughout his life, making a lasting difference for the cats in our care.

We are so thankful for Gus’s many years of kindness, generosity, and dedication to helping cats in our community. His support meant so much to the shelter, and his legacy will continue to make a difference for the cats who need us.

Meet Pingu! 🐧

Pingu is a petite, outgoing, and curious girl with a silly personality that keeps everyone around her entertained. She loves attention from her people and is always eager to be involved in whatever is happening around her.

This little explorer loves investigating every nook and cranny she can find and is happiest when she has something new to discover. Pingu is also very food motivated, so tasty treats are an excellent way to get her attention and make a new friend. Her combination of curiosity and confidence means she’s rarely far from the action.

Pingu will thrive in a home where she has plenty of opportunities to explore, play, and interact with her people. She has lots of energy and personality to share and enjoys being part of the household. Her playful antics, curiosity, and affectionate nature make her a fun and engaging companion who is sure to keep life interesting.

Meet Artemis! 😽

Artemis is a sweet, cuddly, and loving boy with so much affection to give. He loves attention from the people he trusts and has become quite the chatty guy. He’s always happy to have a conversation, especially if there might be some treats involved! Artemis is very food motivated, making treats a great way to win him over and help him feel comfortable.

Artemis came to us very scared and unsure, but he has completely blossomed into the affectionate boy we know today. While he has made wonderful progress, he can still be slow to adjust to change and does best with gradual introductions and patience as he settles into new surroundings.

Once Artemis feels safe and comfortable, he is happy to show off his cuddly personality and enjoy plenty of attention. His journey from a frightened boy to the affectionate, talkative cat he is today has been wonderful to watch, and he continues to gain confidence every day.
