Adventures with Alvesta Arctic Lily—taking time to smell the flowers and learn how to pick her own apples, the clever girl.

Last photo: after spending a couple hours out with us, she and Gloriana were returned to pasture, only to hang on the gate to come back out. ❤️

Welsh Section A & B fillies & young mares going for a gallop. After posting such videos, we’ve had question of the ponies being “hot”. Equines are made to run, and after hours of sedately grazing, they love an excuse to show off. Here, we’ve introduced 3 yearlings to the youngstock pasture, which is the very best excuse!

Over 60 years of breeding Welsh, much of today’s program is comprised of generations of our breeding, selected for both beauty and brains. Kind, sensible temperaments are paramount at Alvesta… on athletic animals that love to move!

The winter fuzzies have arrived, just in time for weaning. We’re enjoying these first days of autumn and savouring the final days of the mares & foals being together—soon the babies will be making their own way in the world. We’re going to miss the four who are leaving—heading east, west and south.

We’ve so enjoyed watching this young mare be developed by owner, Jen Robertson in Ontario. This has been a fantastic cross for us—grateful to have two full sisters in our program: Gwynfydol & Gloriana.
