Fantastic training resource! Thanks PAWSability Center and Lili Chin ! 💙🐾💙

We are soooo excited to officially share our handout on the Stages of Training. Thank you Doggie Drawings by Lili Chin for bringing this to life! This handout is used for clients to follow their dog's training progress!
It goes through all the stages of learning:
1. Acquisition (get the behavior)
2. Fluency (add the cue)
3. Generalization (proof the behavior)
4. Maintenance (maintain the behavior)

Edit to clarify:
1. This is FREE for you to use/make copies of for clients, but not the edit.
2. “As taught by Jean Donaldson” refers to Push, Stick, Drop

Thanks for all the support! 🐾💙🐾

Today is June 19th, also known as Juneteenth. It’s the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. It’s a celebration of Black people and Black History. This date and the history behind it is something we are still learning about, and we invite you to spend some time today learning about Juneteenth as well, if you’re not already familiar.

In the spirit of learning, below are just a few of the accounts that we have been learning from in the past few weeks:

- We learned about her work founding the and are excited to be participating in this program.
- We learned that they started and are a group of young Black naturalists and scientists.
- We learned their mission is to celebrate & inspire Black leadership in nature.
- We learned that Black girls and women are too often underrepresented or unacknowledged in the outdoors.
- We learned that increasing the visibility and representation of Black people in our stories, marketing and media is important work that we MUST do.
- We’ve been learning about the role of Black women and trans women in the Pride movement.
- We learned that this is a great resource for understanding information and vocabulary relating to social issues.

While learning is a great start, action is better. Next week, we’ll share some more about the actions we’re taking.
