One of our cottage clients Judy was struggling with her rescue having reactivity towards other dogs and having a high sense of "Stranger Danger" around new people. His life on the L.A streets fostered this behaviour. Now, their walks are a joy because he checks in with them instead of pulling and enjoys pack walks through the beautiful L.A landscape. We believe every dog can learn, no matter their age or thier start in life. If you're in Muskoka and ready to see a change, we'd love to help. Book Your Session Today!

Nobody warns you that the quiet season can be the hardest one for your dog. As the cottage closes and routines shift back toward town, some dogs quietly struggle with being alone again - pacing, whining, or waiting by the door. It isn't them being dramatic. Being comfortable alone is a skill, and like any skill it can be taught with patience and the right plan. If this fall feels harder for your dog than it used to, you're not alone. Book Your Session Today.

Fall is quietly the best season to train your dog. Trails are quieter, the air is cooler, and summer's distractions have faded - exactly the calm conditions where real learning happens. While most owners wait for spring, this is your window to build focus, manners, and confidence before winter. New puppy, or a reactive dog who needs support? Our Muskoka programs meet you and your dog where you are, with warm, compassionate coaching close to home. Book Your Session Today.

Great day working with Max. We were developing his indication and obedience. Max is such a great dog and is catching on pretty quick to the new expectations of what an indication looks like.

There's one guest at every holiday table who can't resist slipping the dog a little something. We get it - those eyes are hard to say no to.

So we're asking our Muskoka dog family: does a well-meaning hand-feed really undo weeks of training, or is a once-a-year treat harmless?

Tell us where you stand in the comments - no wrong answers, we love a healthy debate.

If your dog comes home a little too interested in the table, our training programs can help you reset the rules. Book your session today.

Muskoka's fall trails are stunning, but with hunting season, keeping you and your dog visible is vital. Even the best-behaved dogs can follow a scent. An orange vest or bandana ensures your dog is seen and safe. It's a simple way to gain peace of mind for everyone.
Remember to follow you local leash laws and follow the park and trail rules to keep our canine community in good standing. We're here to help you strengthen your bond. Book your session today!

Your dog can't say 'please stop' out loud - so they say it with their body. Before you pet, hug, or lean over any dog, run the five-second check: ask by standing near the dog with passive posture, pause, then subtly watch. A turned head, a lip lick, a stiffened body, or a step back is a no, and respecting that quiet no is the kindest thing we can do. Every program we teach in Muskoka has a balanced approach, built on reading the dogs body language and finding what they need physically and emotionally. Not sure what your dog is saying? Send us a message or book your session today.

Two dogs, one house - and a whole lot of opinions. Some families keep feeding, crating, and walking their dogs completely separate. Others work patiently toward shared calm: one room, two relaxed dogs, no drama. Neither is wrong, but only one is a goal you can train toward.

Tell us your house rule - side by side at the bowl, or everyone in their own quiet corner? Drop it below.

Want a calmer household? Book your session with our Muskoka team.
