The nice warm weather has everyone wanting to be outside including the dogs! This usually means an inevitable spike in dogs "taking themselves for walks around town"

This is your reminder that your dog is not allowed to be loose outside in the streets without an owner present.

Please make sure to tie up your dogs on potty breaks and check on them often! (The Co-Op Sells Tie out chains and collars in their pet section if you need or reach out to Wild North Dog Rescue as they have collars to purchase for a small donation fee)

If you have an animal welfare concern here is information on who to call to report. If you’re located in Gillam you can call the Animal Control Number and we will be happy to investigate further. If you’re located in any other community you can call and report your animal welfare concerns to the Manitoba Animal Care Line or your local RCMP detachment.

The snow is starting to melt and that means a winter’s worth of presents 💩
It is your responsibility as a pet owner to make sure your dog's p**p is picked up and the outdoor areas they walk through are clean and free of excrement and debris! This is especially important if they are contained in a small area for potty breaks like a chain or a dog run
