Our chicken Florence holds court every day in Jake's hay feeder. It is her chosen egg laying spot. He may be the tallest horse in the barn, but he respects her space!

I spend a lot of energy making sure I'm doing my best for the horses. One of the big decisions is hay. It's the backbone of a healthy life for horses. Quality, quantity and nutritional content are all big factors. Lucky for me, I never have to worry. We have the best of the best when it comes to hay suppliers. 1st place at the Rockton Fall Fair, that's our brand!! And no, I won't share his info, because I'm petty and I want it all for myself/ my horses 😁🍽️🐎

(A huge congrats to our very deserving, Matt!!)

Happy Thanksgiving! The horses are enjoying about 55lbs of loot from lessons today. Carrots and apples are on the menu, and they are always hungry 😄🍁🦃

It's embarrassing, but I haven't left the farm overnight for over a year. It's been a bit hectic doing it all myself. This week I broke free. I flew to Calgary, drove up to Jasper and back to pick up my grandcat Fred for a few months. A day at home, then I repacked my bag and headed up to Muskoka to help close our family cottage.

Admittedly, I've been a bit absent this past week, but I will be back online soon. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Our barn cat Sugar has definitely moved up in the world! She's slowly, quietly sneaking her way into house cat status 😂

Would anyone happen to have an old tire or two hanging around? We've expanded the goats' pen for the winter and it's in need of some "furniture" 😄

This property is so amazing! I love being able to take students out for a walk with the horses and goats. Not only does it build skills of situational awareness and confidence, but the exposure to nature is so healing.

It's been a long summer of equine asthma challenges for Jamie. Lots of coughing, lots of heaving. Soaked hay, medicated puffers and liquids. Nebulizer sessions, supplements and antihistamines. You name it, we've done it. Finally, he's getting better. Through all of the treatments, he's been such a good boy. If anything, all my tortuous treatments have somehow brought us closer.

Jamie and I have faced some big challenges together over the years. I'm not giving up, and neither is he. We'll get this under control 🥰
