Gander and Area SPCA Rehabilitate. Rehome. Repeat. It's what we do! You may prefer an annoyingly cuddly cat or maybe you enjoy a cranky one?

🐾Welcome to the page for the Gander and Area SPCA!🐾

We are an animal shelter located in Central Newfoundland helping homeless cats, dogs, and small animals find their forever homes💙

Rescue. The goal of this page is to provide you with insight into the personalities of the animals available for adoption at the Gander and Area SPCA. It can be a little daunting making the plunge into committing to loving and taking care of an animal for the rest of his or her life. Perhaps you want an intelligent dog or maybe you prefer one who has more cuteness than brains? To each their own and we are here to help you find your perfect fit! We encourage you to share the pictures/post/videos with your friends and family and help us find loving homes for some of the best animals this world has to offer. If you have visited the shelter and have your own story to tell about one of the animals, feel free to post about it!

I know we're still enjoying spooky season, but November is sneaking up on us and it's time to start looking for our kennel sponsors!❄️☃️

As a Monthly Kennel Sponsor, your name will be displayed on one of our cat kennels as the sponsor for that month!

Your kennel sponsor donation will help us continue to provide shelter, food, and love to the homeless animals that call that kennel home throughout the month.

Each kennel sponsor will receive an official Certificate of Sponsorship, as well as recognition on our page at the beginning of the month!

To become a cat kennel sponsor for November, call our shelter at 709-651-3002 or message us here on Facebook😁

***ADOPTED***

Axel is an energetic 3.5-year-old neutered male husky mix who would make an excellent companion for the right family. This intelligent pup is fully housetrained and demonstrates solid leash manners, though he may occasionally pull with enthusiasm. Axel thrives in social settings and has a proven track record of positive interactions with other dogs, including enjoyable playtime at the dog park. While his spirited nature and occasional independent streak require a confident handler, Axel's natural intelligence means he'll readily master obedience training with consistent guidance. His jumping when excited makes him better suited for homes without cats or young children. Though his recall needs work, this capable learner will quickly develop reliable response skills under proper instruction. Don't miss the opportunity to welcome this wonderful boy into your home—contact our shelter today at 709-651-3002 to learn more about giving Axel the loving family he deserves.
