Rescue. The goal of this page is to provide you with insight into the personalities of the animals available for adoption at the Gander and Area SPCA. It can be a little daunting making the plunge into commi

tting to loving and taking care of an animal for the rest of his or her life. Perhaps you want an intelligent dog or maybe you prefer one who has more cuteness than brains? To each their own and we are here to help you find your perfect fit! We encourage you to share the pictures/post/videos with your friends and family and help us find loving homes for some of the best animals this world has to offer. If you have visited the shelter and have your own story to tell about one of the animals, feel free to post about it!

Sending a TREMENDOUS Thank You to the students, staff, parents and supporters of Gander Elementary’s Loukoumi Foundation for sharing their informative projects and raising money for 14 local charities including our SPCA! They raised an AMAZING $1,132.75 for our shelter!!! While we didn’t get photos of all the projects, we wanted to share what we had. Thank you to our long time volunteer, Paula Payne for accepting the donation! Have a great and safe summer!!

❗FOUND DOG❗

Does anybody recognize this MALE, APPROXIMATELY 5 MONTH OLD, XL BREED PUPPY that was found roaming on Carr Crescent in Gander? He was picked up and brought to our shelter yesterday and we have not been able to locate an owner yet. He does not seem to be microchipped. We are certain SOMEBODY out there knows where this guy came from.

Poor Max has not yet received any applications. He is not settling in well to the shelter and just wants to be near his people. He hates going back into his kennel when it’s time to close the shelter and his cries are enough to break your heart. Surely there must be a suitable home out there for Max? 🥹
