Wood Buffalo Animal Rescue Committee is an organization dedicated to helping animals across the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo as well as all surrounding areas. The rescue was formed to help the remote community of Fort Chipewyan with the over population of stray animals and animals that needed to be re homed. Over the last couple of years it grew into a bigger mission and helping animals in all the surrounding area of Wood Buffalo.

Sipping Pretty YMM x WBARC

Join Allison & Anne Marie on Sunday, June 7, 2026 for a fun HIGH Fitness class in support of the Wood Buffalo Animal Rescue! 💪🐾

After the workout, stick around to meet some adorable adoptables for doggy love and lots of tail wags ❤️

This is a free community event, but monetary donations in support of WBARC are highly encouraged. We’ll also be onsite collecting donations and selling raffle tickets!

Adoptable Peaches! 🩷

Now that Peaches babies have went into their own homes she is THRIVING with her foster family - she absolutely loves spending time with the kids and her fur sibling Leia 🐶 She is spending her summer days at the lake and catching waves!

Peaches is best described as quirky 💛—from her big ears to her adorable face, she’s full of personality. She’s blossomed into a confident, loving girl who enjoys both outdoor playtime and relaxing with her people.

Her cutest habit? Playing with her toys while laying on her back and holding them over her head—it’s the sweetest thing!

Peaches loves treats (they’re definitely her love language 🍪), is gentle and affectionate with kids, and soaks up all the cuddles she can get.

Adoptable Nutmeg 🩷

At just 6 months old, sweet Nutmeg has already been on quite the journey. Born in our care, adopted into what we hoped would be her forever home, and now back with us through no fault of her own — this beautiful girl is once again searching for the family she was always meant for.

Nutmeg’s foster family describes her as gentle, incredibly sweet, and the biggest love bug once she feels safe. She has the softest soul and loves nothing more than being close to her people. Right now, though, the world can feel like a pretty scary place for her.

What Nutmeg needs most is a patient and loving home willing to move at her pace and help her build confidence. Someone who will show her, day by day, that she is safe, protected, and deeply loved. With kindness, reassurance, and a little time, we know this girl is going to absolutely blossom.

Kiwi is a sweet little lady with classic black Lab features and the perfect balance of playful energy and cozy cuddles.

She’s already impressing everyone with how well she’s doing—Kiwi walks beautifully on a leash, is potty trained, and even sleeps through the night (yes, really!) in her crate. She loves her treats just as much as she loves curling up for a good nap.

Kiwi is curious, affectionate, and full of that happy-go-lucky personality that makes every day brighter. She’s the kind of puppy who will happily join you on adventures or settle in for a quiet evening at home. Kiwi does great with kids and other animals!

A HUGE thank you to our local Canadian Tire for welcoming us in for today’s adoption event & supply drive! ❤️🐾

Thanks to our incredible community, the day was a huge success — we’re now stocked up on kibble, p*e pads, and other much-needed supplies for the animals in our care!

And the best part? We now have adoption applications pending for some of our Winnie the Pooh crew 🥹🐶

We’re so grateful for the support from everyone who stopped by, donated, or applied to adopt. It truly takes a community to help these animals find their happily ever after!
