September already!

The days may be getting a little shorter, but things certainly aren't slowing down around here. Horses are still showing and racing, fall wellness and dentistry are well underway, and hopefully we still have a few more weeks of good riding weather ahead.

It's also been a great few weeks for some of our racing clients, and we'd like to send out a big congratulations to Michelle Connell, Alice Draper & team Robertson for the big win last week for Had To Be Relentless. It's always nice to see the hard work that goes on behind the scenes pay off at the track.

Elvio's smile certainly means he is happy about signing up for our Fall Wellness Package and his upcoming appointment with Dr. Alex!

PRP Therapy: Helping Tendons Heal Naturally 🐴

When a horse suffers a tendon or ligament injury, healing can be a long process. One treatment we may recommend to aid in this process is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy.

PRP is created from a small sample of your horse's own blood. The blood is processed to concentrate the platelets, which are rich in natural growth factors that support tissue repair. Using ultrasound guidance, the PRP is injected directly into the injured tendon or ligament, delivering those healing factors exactly where they are needed.

PRP can help encourage more organized tissue healing, reduce inflammation, and support recovery as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program.

Every injury is unique, and the best treatment plan depends on your horse's specific condition. If you have questions about PRP therapy or would like to know if it may be beneficial for your horse, our veterinary team is happy to help.

Welcome to the Team, Dr. Alex Dorscht!

It has been a busy and exciting first couple of weeks at Hall Equine Services as we officially welcomed Dr. Alex Dorscht to the practice.

Over the past week we've been out meeting clients, visiting farms, and getting to know the horses and horse owners that make this community so special. We also took the opportunity to update our team photos!

Alex has already been enjoying the variety that ambulatory equine practice brings each day and is looking forward to continuing to build relationships throughout Erin and the surrounding area.

Her professional interests include equine dentistry, sports medicine and lameness, emergency medicine, reproduction, foal care, and preventative health, and we're excited to have her helping us continue to provide timely, high-quality care to our clients.

If you see us out on the road this summer, be sure to say hello—we're looking forward to introducing Alex to many more of you in the weeks ahead.

Thank you to all of our clients for the warm welcome you've already given her. We truly appreciate your continued trust and support.

As another breeding season winds down, we'd like to thank all of our clients for trusting us with their mares and foals over the past several months. It's always a rewarding (and busy!) time of year.

While the breeding season is slowing down, the work certainly isn't. Summer means catching up on equine dentistry, lameness evaluations, wellness care, and helping performance horses participate in the racing and competition season.

Next week is an exciting one for Hall Equine Services as we welcome Dr. Alex Dorscht to the practice. We're looking forward to working together and continuing to provide the practical, dependable care our clients have come to expect.

Wishing everyone a safe and successful summer with their horses!

• Equine dentistry and oral pain management

• Preventative health and client education

What stood out most to us was Alex’s enthusiasm for building long-term relationships with clients and becoming part of the local equine community.

Dr. Hall had a great time speaking with a fantastic group of local 4-H kids last night about general horse health and equine veterinary care. 🐴

The evening focused on practical horse health topics including how to perform a basic health check, taking a horse’s temperature, listening to heart and lung sounds, recognizing signs that a horse may not be feeling well, and general foaling and newborn foal care. The group also had the opportunity for some hands-on learning with the horses.

It’s always encouraging to see so much enthusiasm and interest in horses and animal health from the next generation of horse people.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped organize the evening!
