Was hoping to work on some jewellery, but a couple of weeks ago this happened. Momma is a little stray that we took in when we realized she was pregnant. Now her, and her 4 little bundles of joy, are safe in my work room. How can I work on anything when I have them to watch?😍😍😍😍

I know it's been a long time since I posted, but I've had a very busy summer of rockhounding. In June we took a road trip to Thunder Bay where we met up with members of the Brantford Lapidary and Mineral Society, plus some other rockhounds. While there we collected lots of stunning amethyst. Here's a few of my favorites.

Here's a rather elaborate design. I was trying several different weaves and I may have gotten carried away, lol. The pink stone is common opal. It's called common because it doesn't have the flash of fancy opals. It fluoresces yellow under UV light and is mildly phosphorescent, it glows in the dark for a second or two after taking away the UV light. There are three freshwater pearl beads and one mother of pearl.
What do you think, is it too much? Would you wear it?
